I suggest that with the brush cutter you coast the throttle as it acts like a fly wheel and the engine will sometimes revs too high. I like coasting the throttle and apply full when i see something thick.

Put together, from the handle to the beginning of the pole saw blade is about 6 feet 4 inches (195cm) and to the tip 7' 4" (224 CM). How far it will reach depends on how high you can lift it. Hope that helps. Don't forget to like share and if you like the channel, subscribe!

We purchased a Parkside 4-in-1 multitool recently and it has worked well for the last 6 weeks. My 14 year old son uses it for strimming and bush cutting mainly, but recently the shaft that connects the motor to the strimmer has stopped spinning round when you press the “engage/accelerator” button/lever so the strimmer head does not spin round, and the engine dies as if the shaft wants to spin but is being stopped by something Do you have any ideas of what I could try or look for, or have you come across this before?
@BensWorkshop
@BensWorkshop 5 күн бұрын
Does it "spin round" with any of the other attachments fitted? For example the hedge cutter or pole cutter? If it does, then the implication is that the head on the strimmer is jammed. In which case the most likely culprit is debris like grass wrapped around it. Remove the debris. You may have to remove the strimmer head or brush cutter to do this. Many thanks for watching! Please like, share and if you like the channel, subscribe!
@ScottPickering-l9s
@ScottPickering-l9s 3 күн бұрын
Thanks Ben, no it does not spin round with the other attachments, the strimmer head rotates freely by hand when the multi-tool is not on. So I am pretty sure its the shaft on the inside.
@BensWorkshop
@BensWorkshop 3 күн бұрын
So if you put the strimmer head on, with the engine not running, you can't turn the head? That would sound like something has siezed in either the clutch or the shaft. What was the strimmer doing when this happened?
@ScottPickering-l9s
@ScottPickering-l9s 3 күн бұрын
@@BensWorkshop The strimmer had been working fine. We got it out the other day and it intermittently wouldn't spin round and the engine died. It then worked and I completed the strimming. When we got it out again it wouldn't spin round at all. I think you are right, clutch or shaft. I was curious to know if you had come across this before.
@BensWorkshop
@BensWorkshop 3 күн бұрын
No. Have you got a pair of pliars, if so you could try to see if the inner shaft in the power unit can be pulled in or out and see if that makes a difference. Also you could see if it turns either way. Do not use much force. You may need to call Lidl service.

Is there any disadvantage to using the rotating blade as a strimmer for soft weeds?
@BensWorkshop
@BensWorkshop 3 ай бұрын
Not particularly. Depends on what else is around it. It is not good to use it where it might knock into brick or concrete. If you are away from hard things, fill your boots. Again, many thanks for watching.

I can’t seem to attach the trimmer pole onto the engine. Just doesn’t clip in, the extension fits in. Any advice?
@BensWorkshop
@BensWorkshop Жыл бұрын
I suspect that the splines are not engaging, so twist the pole back and forth a little. Once you have it pushed home, you might need to pull it out a little to get the button to click. On this actual video I was quite lucky but in part 2 it was a little harder, see here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jH3RhKuQf9RqbJo There's also several other parts. I’m not able to start mine, each time I pull the throttle it snaps back. Any advice?
@BensWorkshop
@BensWorkshop Жыл бұрын
It's sprung, it is supposed to do that (though there might be a way to lock it on). The starting procedure is: 1. Choke on 2. Press primer bulb say 7 times. 3. Start the engine. If it pops a couple of times but doesn't start, turn the choke off. Once running pressing the throttle will take the choke off if it is on. Hope that helps, let me know either way and if not I will try to help further. Many thanks for watching, please like, share and if you like the channel, subscribe!

It does all the things it should do, and pretty well at that. Sure it's not as nicely engineered as one of your Petter engines, but I don't know about you, I'd definitely need a bit more Weetabix before I can swing one of those above my head!!!!!! It'll be nice to see the chain oiler working better - does it make any difference if you brim the oil reservoir or is it just needing some tinkering.
@BensWorkshop
@BensWorkshop Жыл бұрын
Don't know about the oiler. The unit only comes with a small amount of chain oil and I could not find my chain oil. However I will get some more and let people know. Does seem to work well. You can see the way the strimmer turns grass into mist as it cuts. There seem to be some people with issues with the strimmer head so I might need to do a video on strimmer head issues. Many thanks for watching!

I don't I am afraid. At 2 years old it is still in warranty though. If you don't have a physical receipt but used the Lidl Plus app, you will have a digital receipt on there. (I have just checked and mine go back to when I started using it in September 2020, and I have had a new phone). You can call Lidl service who should be able to help. Also have you carried out the servicing in the manual (can also be found on the Lidl Service website)? Many thanks for watching, please like, share and of you like the channel, subscribe!

Hi, I have a problem with the Strimmer head, when i start it the strimmer falls of the attachment, also it is taking me ages to actually start the motor, I try pulling it and pumping the oil so much, please help
@BensWorkshop
@BensWorkshop Жыл бұрын
Not quite sure if you have one or two problems. Firstly you need a 40 to 1 mix of petrol to oil, and not E10 (it rots the plastic and rubber in the carburettor.) You probably want about half a tank of fuel. Press the primer bulb 6 or 7 times. You should see fuel returning to the tank on the clear fuel line. If not, you may not be pressing hard enough. Also check the fuel pickup (there will be a pipe in the tank with a small filter on the end) is in the fuel. If that does not work, check that the spark plug cap is on (an pushed firmly home). The strimmer head has a left handed thread so to thread it on, you turn it anti clockwise and to remove you turn it clock wise. Hope that helps, if not come back to me. Many thanks for watching!
