Aquascaping A Locally Sourced Tadpole Aquarium (I tried...)

Life in Jars?

Күн бұрын

I tried aquascaping a locally sourced aquarium. I only used resources from a local pond. This is intended as a native aquarium for tadpoles. In this video I show the sourcing, the aquascaping and the aquarium.
Enjoy!

I never thought floating rocks were a thing until I was camping in a dried river bed that came down from a vulcano in Iceland. The next morning the water level was a lot higher and there were tons of floating rocks coming down the river. It was so amazing especially because I never really heard of floating rocks :P

this video is iconic. the level of self-awareness coupled with the casual obliviousness to the floating property of already floating wood? Beautiful. The self-professed lack of skill? Amazing. Oh yeah! me too. My parents got me a plastic waiting pool when I was six, I swam in it once. Whenever my dad would go fishing, which was often because he commercially fished as well as a lot of other things., I would always make him let me catch stuff to bring home to my pond. It was a thriving ecosystem that did well on its own, and since we lived in Houston Texas at the time there was lots of rain so I rarely even had to add water. So much fun huh!?!

The aquarium is so beautiful! I wish I lived by a pond with tadpoles and fish!

I'd bet there is a pond with tadpoles near you. Get out there to the green spaces or forest near you. Even if you don't find tadpoles, you will find some forms of "life for jars" ....

You're adorable and I couldn't stop giggling at the genuinely dumbfounded look you had upon the realization that the floating driftwood...floats. Thank you for sharing your thoughts during the setup of this project!

i think your amateurish style of videos full of curiosity and mishaps accompanied with your commentary is charming in a way. Youre also trying your best, not just half assing it and that also adds to the charm

Thank you so much for doing these videos in English! They're very entertaining, which is partly your humble and honest sense of humor but also hugely to your knowledge. Appreciation from Australia!

I think you did a pretty good job actually. This looks a lot less planned and more natural, beautifully chaotic; and isn't that how nature is anyway? I definitely want to see more of this project.
