Yessssss, that bugs me more than anything! $40 for a meal ain't affordable unless you're feeding a LOT of people or want to have a tonne of leftovers. I don't mind putting the work in to make things that taste good, but when Gordon Ramsay says a dish that contains friggin fresh-caught crab or a dozen ingredients you've never even heard of is somehow "affordable," my only reaction is "yeah, because you're a millionaire, you corrugated English prick!"

Try reading "One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovitch" by Alexandr Solzhenitsyn. For me it was a life-changing experience. I haven't had a bad day since. If Ivan can be happy and have a good day in the gulag, then what the heck do I have to complain about? ;)

My wife has been making olivya for several years, she got the recipe from a kind Slavic woman she worked with at one point. Recently saw your tip on crumbling the boiled eggs instead of cutting them. She finished her last batch, mixed it up and took a bite. With amazement in her eyes she looked at me and said that I needed to tell Boris that she could give you a hug. Saved her twenty minutes. I think they move together because of money reasons... It is easier to pay everything when there is more than one person, one person may get ill, injured, lose a job(I don't think this would be a problem with programming though) and without monthly pay, your bills are getting delayed, you get into a debt and it is a snowball that is hard to break... So moving not alone (especially into another country) is much better choice

My mom often make a Jamu (an indonesian traditional medicine drink) or let's just say every drink made with plants or spices like ginger, BAY LEAF, cinnamon or any like that that can cure some illnesses called jamu Almost everyday she makes jamu out of BAY LEAVES, yes, bay leaf, and with some other spice, it really cures her illness, She gets better and better by the time because of the BAY LEAF

If you are extra sensitive to the heat and the blowing method doesn't feel right for you, there is an alternative. Use a wooden spoon with a long handle. Not only will your hand avoid the steam, but the spoon will not heat up and burn your hand, so you can stir for longer.

Hey Boris,I just remembered that we in Italy have the bay leaf liquor. It is fantastic and super easy to make. Just mix 90% alcool with the bay leaves, wait 2 weeks and then add water and sugar to reach about 40% alchol. Trust me, it is majestic.

I started to watch boris‘ live delightening videos like two or three years ago (maybe even more? Idk blin!) and planted a Bayleaf plant in my garden. You posted this a day before my birthday, so it was a nice early birthday present of sorts. I definitely got a few smiles out of it, and I'll certainly be looking at my graters in a different light now. As a side note, do you have any slavic dishes that use apples? I live in New York in the USA, which is kind of famous for the countless apple orchards we have here. It might be nice to put some of those apples to use making a slavic dish. Honestly grating an entire potato breakfast like that is genius Only one pan and the grater to clean, cooks in minutes, you could add whatever you want into it - I'll have to try it out!
