Great video Nick 👍 Looks like the Fens are the place to be for Big Rudd . Nice to see decent Rudd these days.

Yeah, there’s some great Rudd in these drains. I look forward to going back and having another crack at them!

Once again admiring ur tenacity in perusing a species. The fens are a big prairie to get the hang of,.where they hold up n stuff....... U got some nice uns...real wild fish...I get mine on surface or slowly sinking ...big lumps of bread usually biggish hooks.Find that they are wary of suspended baits...in clear water..

I wonder if it should have just tried freelining in a few of these locations. I worked hard and not sure it completely paid off this time! But there’s always next time! 😉👍

I used to do this off my boat on the Ouse. Sold that now but would love to give it a go again. Great suggestion 👍👍👍

Love fishing for Rudd, on my center pin, with a single peice of corn fishing near the surface, linked to my bouncy round pike Bobber, it dances on the surface as the Rudd can't pull it down.. keeping them out of my lakes thick bottom weed snags.. it takes x3 swan to keep it up right but the extra weight helps with the underhand casting, for accurate stalking with a nice attractive plop on the surface and the Rudd rush to compete for the single corn till one running away with the Bobber zigzagging on the surface, great for playing them at the surface on light line.. you should try it its fun to watch on a clear day or overcast 😊

The fens is my home fished it since I was knee high to a grasshopper, she’s a cruel mistress and kicks my butt most the time but occasionally you land a gem, glad you had a good time you was in safe hands with Becker’s and ally 🤙🏼

Great informative vid as always Nic . May I suggest or ask that you do a Roach film this winter . The helicopter rig maggot approach 😉I’d be keen to see your approach 👍🎣🌞

Yes, 100% although more likely to try and get one trotting tbh. Definitely a target this winter though 👌

You should try catching Rudd with lures. It is amazing with UL rod! Anyway love your channel and waiting for continuation of perch masters series, goood content!
@Lifeonthebank2 жыл бұрын
Awesome. What sort of lures do you use? Thanks for the kind comments 👍👍

@@Lifeonthebank Mostly softbaits, I actually pour my own lures. So I designed micro rippers 15mm and 19mm long :) and different natural size larvas - stonefly, mayfly, caddis. I can send you some if you want to try them. I am a big fan of UL fishing :)

Thanks for the video. Some lovely rudd you landed there. I've been thinking about perch too. I'm going to try float fished small deadbaits this year, not something I've done before. Would you consider a trip up to the fens in search of pike and/or zander?
@Lifeonthebank2 жыл бұрын
Definitely would consider a trip there for perch and Zander. They catch some crackers 👌👍
