To be honest MUD is nobodies friend, and for a young little girl it'll be 100 times worst specially if Daddy is showing it for the WHOLE WORLD to see. The Lexy is keeping up good on those technical trails, quite surprisingly... 🤠

Kinda hard to compare a fully locked vehicle to an open diff vehicle.

That 4Runner is not straight from the Factory tho. It has a ARB Front Air Locker and a factory E-Locker in the rear. You're always going to get better traction with locked Difs. With open dif's you basically have to drive full send on challenging terrain, with lockers you can take it easy and crawl. I have a 2020 Taco with a open dif in the rear and a Air Locked Front. It has made all the difference off road with just the front dif locked.

@@Malc664 Thanks, I did a lot of research on the tube about that decision lol. My SR5 Taco didn't come with the factory E Locker in the rear or crawl control. So I went front first then for Christmas I am going to have the rear dif done. I like the ARB lockers, there a bit pricey but I do like them.

Coming from a background in filmmaking, I'm amazed at the effort you guys put forth in making your journey seem "effortless". Still trying to figure out who is operating the drone while both of you are driving. Perhaps Caroline has learned how to be a drone operator. Not to mention all of the different camera angles. You must spend most of your travels jumping ahead to set up a shot, run back to the SUV, drive through the shot, run back and pick up the camera, then move on to the next camera set up. What an impressive amount of work that no-one thinks about or really appreciates when they watch your videos.

I caught it, and I was trying to figure out who the 4th person was when both vehicles were in motion! I suppose it could be a tracking feature with the newer drones. It makes for some great cinematography.

Globally the GX is known as the 4Runner :D- axle lockers front and rear, like a Wrangler Rubicon; can and would make your life easier

When my daughter was about Caroline's age we were off road in the Blue Ridge Mtns and encountered some pretty serious mud. My faithful '85 Toyota pickup handled it with little effort but to this day (she's now 31) my daughter's version of that trip is we barely escaped with our lives! You should record Caroline's version of this day!

We did the ERT this summer from Queen through Medano pass then detoured west to Creede, the Alpine Loop, and north all the way to the North Sand Dunes. 35 nights dispersed. This seems to cover some similar ground but different trail choices and we are eager to try it out. Great work!

Whow baby bear is getting big enough to rest her feet on the dash while she takes a nap. My it's been fun watching her grow. My daughter is 17 now and she resembled Caroline so much when she was that age. Bring back a lot of memories. Not the travels of course but the little girl things she does. Saltines might be nostalgic but Ritz has the best flavor. Y'all can't go wrong there. here's to papi, salud!

Great video. Right on the edge of my stomping grounds. What I want to know is where did you find mud? I don't think it rained two days all summer up here. How was the climb up onto the cliff face above the lake near the end of the video? It was a fairly smoky summer as well. We had six or so fires burning all around us this year. Including one up in the Snowy Range of Wyoming.

@Todd Duncan The Flat Tops are almost due west of Granby and just west of Toponas and Yampa. The area in the video is the south side of the Flat Tops. Search Heart Lake in Google Earth and the video is just west of there. I have no idea where the Plateau Ridge trail is.

Great video, if I’m not mistaken I think the only way to increase ground clearance is bigger tires. But for the GX that means more cutting and a wheel offset that works. I wish in the future Toyota/Lexus increases ground clearance on the GX and Landcruiser. Awesome content!
