Going to the salon as a young black girl is such a right of passage. It's more than just about hair care. Not only are you pampered, but you get to an opportunity to commune with other black women. As a child, just to sit and listen to the grown ups talking, gossiping and laughing was an event. The life lessons to be learned in just a few hours is priceless. In a community where you are usually one of few, it can feel amazing to finally be in space way you are one many. Where people understand without you really having to explain. Thank you Chris for taking the girls on this important journey in life. Also shout out to the stylist and the salon. The silk press she did on Yuri and Dasomi is EVERYTHING!!!

Being Mexican or half Mexican isn't a race. What is your hair type letter? Why did they not know how to do your hair and were you able to do your hair own or who did it for you? How did that go for you and what is the benefits to your hair? Do you wear a bonnet and what is your favorite type of bonnets if you wear one? What is your favorite hairstyle, African braids, and braids to wear and do?

Yes finally after so many years they are going to a Natural hair salon not just an African braider. Nothing is wrong with going to the African hair braiders it's good as a protective style, but they don't really focus on hair cuts and tips on how to take care of natural hair like a Black-owned Natural hair salon does. Thank you Chris for bringing the girls there to boost Yuri's and Dasomi's self-esteem and show them Black self-love. Please do this every three months to keep their hair healthy. All the girls need now is to go to an African cultural center to learn Kenyan culture and Kiswahili three times a week. That will help them learn the other side of their ethnicity fully. These girls need BIPOC friends to see weekly to help them with their self-identity problems. These activities like African drum classes, Kiswahili classes, African dance, etc. will build the girls up, so they won't listen to racist kids when they say mean things about them.

Only interacting with White people won't help with that, they need to be around a racially diverse community or their in danger of a self-identity crisis. I hope the middle school Lily picked for Yuri is racially diverse, so Yuri grows up well rounded with people who can relate to her experiences as a Blasian girl in the USA.

I also wanna see them going to a curly hair salon to teach them how to properly moisturize and define their hair, they have a beautifuk curk pattern! And yeah nothing against african braids, they just seem to fit older people, they need more young looking braids and styles. No hate to their mom, everything is a learning experience!
@Chels4hair7 ай бұрын
@@YenellyT I think they straighten their hair because they needed a trim badly and most natural hair girls do this once to twice a year usually in winter/early spring to switch up their look. I’m sure this hair salon will teach the girls how to shampoo the hair-scalp correctly and how to detangle using a lot conditioner. They will probably recommend them to use a deep conditioner after using shampoo and conditioner to help them grow their hair especially Dasomi since she had to cut off two inches due to breakage. Hopefully when they go back next time they will teach Dasomi how to define her tight curls and coils for a more define wash-n-go. Too much frizz causes tangles which leads to split ends aka damage. So it’s best to have define curls to prevent that or a blow dried Afro if you’re going for a frizzy look. But when you mix the both that’s when you get hair damage.

Quite the opposite. Asian teeth and eyes, black hair and skin. Body type will likely also be an unfortunate mix. They would be better off if they were just one or the other.

This is my first time watching this channel. What a wonderful intro. My Mom sent me to the hairdresser regularly because she was a black woman who did not know how to style and maintain black hair. I took it for granted that my hair was always nice until I had 3 daughters and I didn’t know how to keep up their hair. We relied on hair braiders. This was a right of passage. And to hear that you are a Dad who stepped up makes it that much more amazing. God bless your family. New subscriber.

Lots of beauticians don’t know how to care for hair of this type. The best thing is to condition it and soften with heat or a steamer first and while the conditioner is in detangle with wide comb softly pulling with fingers to lengthen tough areas and it takes a delicate touch.

I haven’t been caught up with your videos in a while but seeing the girls looking so grown up and beautiful, it just reminded me of when Yuri was little and was sad she was darker than you and Dasomi and it broke my heart because she didn’t realize how absolutely gorgeous she was. Now they’re these beautiful young ladies and so happy and confident! And you seem so much happier and Chris seems absolutely wonderful I’m just so happy for you and your family. You’re absolutely amazing!

When I say, I loved every minute of this... I LOVED EVERY MINUTE! I'm so glad the girls had the experience of getting their hair professionally done at a black salon. They rocked those styles and you could see the confidence radiate from their beautiful faces. Awesome job, Dad! Such a great surprise. Welcome home Mom!

So beautiful! Whatever you do, never let your girls get their beautiful hair chemically straightened ❤ Tip- to keep their curls a few days , at night scrunch up their curls with the palm of your hands and place a Bobby pin to keep them in place Place bonnet at night. In the morning just remove pins and shake 😅 Look at KZbin to see how to use the heartless satin thingy 😅to get bouncy curlz

As a black woman who never heard you look so pretty as a girl. It’s refreshing to see young girls be affirmed by their father. I didn’t even hear I love you growing up ever. Now I’m an adult and after many battles, yes my father says it. It’s very beautiful to see something different and see children smile from their parents telling them they are beautiful and they love them from a young age. 💕

Oh wow their hair is gorgeous. They definitely need to go more often. It seems like they like their curls plenty of natural stylist can do natural styles or even just maintenance. When I was a curly girl, I just went to get my hair shampooed and deep conditioned. Please, please make sure yall are keeping their hair moisturized.

I like the salon! if I ever go to Utah, I will stop through Hair Haven. I like how they communicated with yall and overall handled yall. I'm a retired stylist. It looks like you didn't have an appointment and you did a walk in, with two heads, with long, thick full matted hair. That is not an easy task to tackle last minute. Its great to see that even know they were pretty busy, play took y'all in and got it done and did a great job. ❤
