I find it a little annoying with smaller jumps since you have to press-b so frequently but with larger jumps this could definitely be more practical

You cant. You can only land with aerials or downB in which case the two landing lags overlap. Since you had a hitbox active, it becomes a bit safer.

Infinity Soul there has to be a way to cancel landing lag, there was in Sm4sh, you just side b the exact frame when landing and it canceled landing lag.
