For critters wanting to learn how to mini: Technique: layered drybrushing, followed by a wash. 3:43 beginning of drybrushing explanation. 9:29 beginning of wash explanation. BLUF: Beginner level skill to bring up depth in a mini. Also very useful for minis with chain armor. Skipped steps: The minis had to be washed(with soap and water) to remove mold release. Flash and mold lines need to be inspected and sanded off. Then the minis were primed (painted with a layer of special paint called primer) so the acrylic paint will stick without having to be too thick. Then the guy did some quick spot work as described by the host. Materials: The acrylic paint looks to be army painter, a pretty decent brand. You can get a starter set from them, or reaper for reasonable amounts. The washes were citadel. They aren't cheap, but you get what you pay for. The mini is obviously Nott from the M9 mini line. The palette is just a standard oil palette. For drybrushing it is ideal for acrylic. Reason, the paint needs to be thick, and barely on the brush. Thinning the paint via a wet palette would not work well. Further "readings": For further information, I recommend either painters guild (g&s with Will) or goobertown hobbies. Painters guild goes step by step, and goobertown has a video for "all the things I wished someone told me about mini painting when I started". So get yourself a starter set, some decent brushes, hit up reaper bones black for cheap minis and start at it.

@Gauldame5 жыл бұрын
@@Kaptonii not when dry brushing. Thinning paint, via either flow aid, medium or a wet palette will hamper your dry brush. Wet dry brushing is either overbrushing (if on purpose for an effect) or bad technique (if on accident) and will look like bad brush handling. Also a thinned dry brushing can pull up undercoats, with the flow aid re activating the lower paint. *edited because autocorrect doesn't grammer.
