He had no idea how sick he was until he walked in and saw all the tubes. When he left he got very emotiona,l When he died he went thru depression. He said Jeff Beck WAS the greatest guitarist in history. The day of his funeral he told Jeffs wife that some of the quitar legends just got together and was going to do a tribute to Jeff at Albert Hall in London. She told him that would be absolutely wonderful. R.I.P Jeff Beck. We were so blessed to have both you and your talent.❤❤

In the annals of post WWII music Jeff Beck will sit atop the Pantheon of great musicians/guitarists having truly mastered his craft. I think of the likes of Oscar Peterson, Miles, Trane, Parker, Joe Pass, Wes Montgomery, John McLaughlin, The Beatles, Jimi to name a few and yes, Jeff will be on that special list too. One must realize he gave us nearly 60 years of pushing the envelope with his guitar. 60 years not wasted on resting on his laurels. 60 years of great music. And I'm fortunate to have lived through all of that, to bear witness, to have so enjoyed seeing him perform a few times live and up close. Thanks for that, Jeff, rip.

Jeff Beck has always been God to me. I have played lead guitar in bands for 40 yrs and picked up some of the things he used to do. However, he is a magician that no one can emulate. His is the only version of Little Wing I've heard that touches Jimi's. He nails the feeling and the sound of the song, and I've never heard that done by others. YMMV, @mattgwardesq, after all, it's music! To me, SRV added flashes & flourishes that are more of the head than the heart. Jimi was singing about his love, and there's a purity and tenderness there that I don't hear in most of his other music. No doubt that SRV is great, but to me he's flashier and Jimi got straight to it.
