I've only become a fan days ago, and am continuously impressed at the caliber of not only musicianship, but of visual artistry and orchestration of creative crafts collaborating to showcase amazing talents. Thank you. When asked what I took from this specific piece, I feel it portrays the struggle on one's self between light and dark. I follow the epic arc of how one can succumb to one's shadows, but within such darkness can light truly shine. One cannot be without the other. And only in finding that balance within can the hero in all of us master our destinies on our Paths to "the upside", and in doing so, inspire others. Again, thank you, for another masterpiece. What if Underground is set after this video, and the evil lady is the one who trapped all of them in their shape prisons. Then when they escape in Underground, the evil lady trapes Lindsey in a crystal ball = Shatter Me. After Shatter Me comes Lost Girls. The evil lady in Lost Girls looks similar to the one in the Upside. What if it's all connected?

i am taking an educated guess here but it looks like it is the same girl in both Underground and Lost Girl to play the witch. or i think she is a witch. I also noticed she is dressed Very similar maybe the same even. I gotta take another look to be sure. look up who plays each but i think we will find that she is. also, Lost Girls references Shatter me when the whitch or whoever she is comes out to put Lindsey in a snow globe and for a second it shows her from Shatter Me. So I see that Artemis has somehow fallen to the Underground world from the moon... And well she's trying to get back up there. Until now I thought the 'underground girl' and Artemis were two different characters - they may be one of the same. After she gained that bow. Persepherone, wife of Hades, was adamant on keeping her down there or offered some sort of help... Great work Lindsey. I'm really enjoying this narrative being told in this manner, cinematic story through music and stunning visuals.

Hi! I didn't realize this video was already out to watch until now. However, it's cool! I think what I love the most are two main things: 1. The continuity with the first video (story), and 2. The characters, I'm really intrigued about that shadow lady, and what's the relation between the red hair girl (sorry, I don't know the name :P) and the Artemis. Nyx didn't have anything to do with Artemis though. Instead, the thing on her head looks like what Selene is wearing in statues. Selene is the old goddess of the moon and was later kind of replaced and mixed together with Artemis the new goddess of the moon and the hunt

I can't help to feel this music video has a deeper meaning. Take it how you will, but for me it seems like at first Lindsey and her friend embark on their journey to go to the upside in hopes of a better life. Then they get hit by this mysterious figure who casts darkness on them. Her friend gets hit first, and then she follows. It's like how we go through rough times in life to get to where we want to be. I thought it was so awesome how she breaks free, and then proceeds to help others get to the upside. There's so much more I can say, but I totally love it. Amazing job :)

To be honest, I was leery of listening to this version with vocals, as I fell in love with the original and haven't often been a fan of lyrics in Lindsey's music.. but I listened.. and I love it. The catchy vocals only make the drops more powerful, and the finale' of vocals, tracks, and violin are akin to the ball dropping on New Year's: wild energy and pure joy. - The video might be my newest favorite of hers. The blending of fantasy/mythology/sci-fi is perfect, and the SFX visuals + her music gives me chills. The complicated struggle of overcoming darkness and finding your light, power, and purpose is.. so relatable. - We need a film for this story and world! Even if a short one - ft. several tracks and starring Lindsey herself - would be incredible. It's like if "Ghost in the Shell" met "Alita" by way of Greek Mythology... perfection.

You know Lindsey, I don't know if you will read this one or not, but I just wanted to say I respect you as a musician and an artist now a lot more... I mean, I've been a fan of yours since your first few KZbin videos. Somehow I was blessed enough to be shown them by a brother, but then while struggling with some of the prudish attitudes I had developed from a difficult life of abuse and mental illnesses, I'd distanced myself from your work. I never could think ill of you though, because you seemed genuine and remarkably committed to good things from the videos, interviews, etc I saw over time. Thankfully now, I have since recovered from my mental illnesses remarkably well over this last year and a half. I guess I just wanted to say thank you for doing what you are doing, even though things probably get very difficult in the moment for you sometimes..., and despite the flack you get from a lot of people struggle with their own inner darkness which you happen to have a talent for causing to awaken with in them with your music and dance. I'm sorry they then blame their darkness on you, because they don't wish to take responsibility for it, and so blame you. Thanks for not being afraid to be a brand of good which sometimes makes others uncomfortable in this way..., because they are from a... (man I can't think of a nice word...) religiously fearful/faithless/narrow-minded background (irrespective of religious/nonreligious affiliation). I don't know if this makes sense or not, or again if you will read this anyway or not, but just the same. Thanks. :)

Hello again. I found my response and thus your post again. Although you wrote very well; I don't think people blame Lindsey for their darkness. I think that they are so accustomed to it that they just think it's normal or not that bad to worry about it. The big problem that I'm seeing is some people don't think Lindsey can do what she does. I've been enlightening and correcting quite a lot of people. And what if Lindsey did find this post of yours and wondered which videos of hers you really like the most? You have NO songs or videos of Lindsey and you haven't even subbed to her. Would she not doubt your fandom, as I could? As I said, I've been correcting people usually with this... Lindsey always plays live. She has said that she tried "faking" it once and it just looked ridiculous. Because it is way too hard to sync the violin playing to the music. And it looks way too obvious. And you should know that technique is NOT everything. Lindsey had to adjust her technique to incorporate her dancing. Let me misquote Spock, "Proper violin techniques are the beginning of proficiency, not the end." Lindsey is a Professional. And her stats PROVE it... Lindsey has been playing the violin for *31* years and she added dancing *20.5* years ago. They say to be an expert at something, you need 10,000 hours. Lindsey has 30,000 hours. Every concert and show has been SOLD-OUT. *Would you buy a ticket ($100-$200) to a "fake or bad" show?* Lindsey has 13.9 million subs, 4.5 billion views, 131 music videos, hundreds of misc. videos, 6 full albums, 25+ violins, and has toured the world many times. Lindsey is a Professional. She doesn't need to fake it. In fact, I like saying, "Almost anyone can stand around and play Bach. But how many can play AND dance to Michael Jackson?" The idea comes to me after watching this video. Now, I see an adaptation of "I fly for you" (carnival row) with a violin. The clip: In a steam-punk universe, a young woman wishing to explore the world pretends to be a man to board a ship. A storm bursts and the boat sinks into the waves. The only survivor of the sinking, she fails on the shores of a magical land. Fantastic creatures are wary of this human, but the woman has a great asset: her violin... XD

I now have context about this world Lindsey has created. Her comics are fascinating and I eagerly await the next. Her interpretation of the Goddess Artemis is interesting. We shall see what is next.

She doesn't want a movie about it. She just did The Upside, Artemis, and Til The Light Goes Out videos to promote her comic books and her album. Actually, both were separate. NASA had The Apollo Missions decades before. And Artemis was Apollo's sister. Lindsey named her song and album Artemis for what Lindsey was going through. She did Artemis because of her connection with the moon. Lindsey's best friend and keyboardist, Gavi died on 11-21-15. After her dad died 1 year, 2 months, and 3 days later (1-24-17), Lindsey fell into a deep depression. She was starting to accept that her current state was the "New Lindsey". About 2 years later, she started to come out of it and she realized that it was just a phase, like our moon. Lindsey wasn't "gone". She was just covered in shadow. Like our moon. Now, she uses this story to help others see that we all can be at our full light. Even at our darkest times, we all can shine brightly again...eventually. Don't let temporary shadows (clouds) keep your light hidden.

This is SO cool! I am so in love with the concept for this album, the message behind it and the character Artemis and this character. I REALLY want to know more about the comic book, like the release date and where I can get it, etc. Artemis is so incredible, so much heart and hard work went into making this album. It's my favorite album she has put out since Shatter Me.
