Ouch, that jab at his time on Channel Awesome really hurt. I loved that when it was at its prime and it's a shame that it all fell apart, even though I know why it did. At the very least, Linkara still seems to be on good terms with many of the old reviewers form the site, and they did make some AWESOME movies and series while it lasted.

Regarding the 4:3 issue: That's because the Director's Cut was first released on video. Back then people still had big, clunky 4:3 TVs (when the DTV-sequels came out, 16:9 TVs had become much more prevalent), so the scenes added for that version were only mastered in 4:3. So now we're stuck watching the shorter cinematic cut in widescreen or watch the longer version in 4:3 or have the format change sometimes during the movie. As far as I know, the original raw film doesn't exist anymore, so there's really no way to remaster the Director's Cut-only scenes again for a proper widescreen release. Source: I worked on a recent German release of the movie and got some insider info there.

So, while I don’t love Mirror Linkara, I get that I’m not supposed to. But something interesting to consider is that Mirror Linkara is kind of like the Mirror universe itself in Star Trek. At first, it appears campy and piratey, but now with more time and a slight redesign, it’s less an evil double sort of situation and more a slight tweak of a preexisting person with differing events. Also, the change from a slightly altered version of the normal costume to something entirely different and darker. Not sure how much of that was intentional, but I do know how much you love DS9, Lewis!

I really love the evolution in character for Mirrorkara. From a silly ineffectual goof of a villain boasting his evil plans to take over the world and force everyone to wear gold vests turned several years older into a "I've harboured my unbridled HATRED AND RAGE for you and I would like you to suffer and DIE!!!" villain. Its a great way to utilize your show's villains without having to cheapen an already established villain like Lord Vyce or MYSTERIOR!!! (The show's most memorable villain) I am however fascinated as to how Erin's childhood would've been under Mirrorkara considering that she likely lived under his watch since she was a kid. Never mind the fact that he doesn't strike me as the sort of person who'd raise a kid to shape them into the force of evil he likely wanted her to be (Then again maybe that makes Erin's earlier failed thief antics in her first appearance all the more fitting) And while we're at it, where the hell is the Mirror Universe Doctor Insano? I would've thought he'd be the first one on the case to stop Mirrorkara? Ah well, at least he looks damn sexy in a lab coat.

4:33 Okay, I may be overanalyzing to the extreme on this, but did they manage to work-in the whole Channel Awesome controversy on top of Mirrorkara's reasoning on why he and Linkara are the same? I mainly wonder this because with how Mirrorkara points to the wall with mostly posters of the TGWTG Anniversary movie posters, on top of mentions of other people propping him up, as well as mentions of betrayal, which is not really a factor in any of the videos presented in the posters up there, the only event that I could relate those shoutouts to would be a lot of the grimy and scandalous behind-the-scenes details that we heard about in that document that came out earlier this year. I could be taking things COMPLETELY out of proportion, but if that really was the true intention of that scene, very interesting addition and way of building up the character of Linkara more, as well as addressing the dispute from early 2018. ☺

I like how, even though Jojo's Bizarre Adventure isn't really Linkara's thing, it is very clearly his title card artist's thing. Though I think if Linkara gave them another try part 2 and part 4 would be more his speed. Hellraiser 3 is a guilty pleasure of mine. I adore the first two movies, but I actually like how they were able to tie up all the loose ends in 2 with this one and give the series a nice ending. The only big plot hole to me (semi-spoilers) is Pinhead choosing Doc to be a Pseudo-Cenobite. Most of Pinhead's new army were assholes who helped JP seduce and boot women out of his club, and Teri became a Pseudo-Cenobite as part of a deal to help her dream, but Doc was an overall nice guy and I can't see a single thing wrong with him for Pinhead to exploit.

Unpopular opinion, but I think the Hellraiser franchise took a dive in quality immediately after the first movie. The second movie is by no means bad (especially considering all the other sequels), but the very cool visuals are the only thing keeping it together all the way through. The movie is just missing the atmosphere of the first one and has some really forced comedic moments (for example, the first thing the mute girl says and the doctor cenobite's one-liners). But at least is not boring (like 5-7) or insulting to the audience's intelligent (like Hellworld and Revelations).

Unpopular opinion: I actually really like "Hellraiser 3". I get why so many others don't, though. After people explaining the things they didn't like about it, I understood why the movie is actually technically bad. But the good elements Linkara spoke of at the beginning of the review allows me to still be able to enjoy it despite its numerous flaws. Also, Motorhead does the theme song (a cover of a song originally recorded by Ozzy Osbourne, though Lemmy actually helped him write it). That I will always love.

I just watched Hellraiser 3 last week on AMC, and it was perfect timing, because I bought the first 2 movies on DVD from my local Dollar General. I agree that Hell on Earth isn't all bad, but it DOES have head-scratching moments. 0:24- No, he had a girlfriend who said that he should smile more. 3:34- THAT should have been Trump's campaign slogan. 9:34- Thankfully, if you wanna know how bad Hellword and Resurrection are, just click on Phelous's reviews on them. 13:42- LMFAO. 19:31- Her dialogue is so repetitive, I expect her to start talking about Dick Grayson, age 12.

Does time work differently in different dimensions (rhetorical question) cause these two met back June or July of 2014 I think, and the At4w movie event happened in 2015 of October or November. If those two were able to come to our dimension during the battle with Mechakara over Europa then Mirror-Kara or Evil-Kara take your pick, would’ve been stuck in the hellfire dimension for a year and a half only. Time zones of other universes aside, something doesn’t add up about all this.

see i think pinhead does make some sense here if you think about it like this. the entity he is now was split off from elliot spencer after he was killed in the second one, yet still exists as a hollow shell. combine that with the....death?..... at least the severing of the connection with leviathin and we get an ultra powerful devil with no restraint and no master. thus with only very base sadistic and personal desires left he goes nuts also i have to enjoy this movie at least a little because it ends with the motorhead song hellraiser. and in the video for that lemmy plays cards with pinhead

When you do get back to the Hellraiser franchise and wanna use footage from the third film, the Arrow Video Scarlet Box Blu-Ray set has both the R-Rated and the Unrated versions in widescreen (With VHS quality inserts of the unrated content). Only catch is the set is pricey as fuck.

When it comes to Hellraiser, I honestly don't have as close a connection to it. As I said, I've seen the first two films. The first movie was good and the second, was great story wise. It's just, I come to horror for the suspense, story, and atmosphere, and while this franchise has all three, I'm not really into the torture porn side of horror (that and what was said about the sequels after 2 implies I'd hate it). As such my views are reflected in how I see the comics. With that said, I respect Lewis and anyone who's a fan that can appreciate it.

Imagine Ghost Rider, teaming up with Pinhead & his entourage, to recover artifacts that went missing from Hell. Pinhead believes the artifacts are somewhere on Earth. Pinhead convinces Ghost Rider to help him out. *Ghost Rider:* I'll help you out, but you have to blend in. Pinhead & his entourage change into what they look like before they became Cenobites. Pinhead rides with Ghost Rider in his car. Butterball rides in a motorcycle, while Chatterbox (I think that's the name) sits in the side car. The female Cenobite rides in her own motorcycle. Then they set off to recover the artifacts.
