It's weird, but it's the toned down songs that I love most from this band. Don't get me wrong I love heavier songs too, but the calmer songs hold more meaning to me. 'Leave Out All The Rest' remains as one of my favorites even though people don't consider Minutes to Midnight as great as their first two albums, but personally it's my favorite.

You know folks, It's weird. I am a Metal fan, but I actually don't mind Minutes To Midnight or A Thousand Suns. I just hope this new album will be hardcore. I mean I love Heavy shit and I would pick that any day of the week but I still like to halt sometimes and kind of chill out and listen to tracks like " In Between" or " In Pieces"

When I listened to A Thousand Suns and Minutes To Midnight it was a bit too light music for me, because before Living Things I was missin g the old kind of LP because it was harder. But now when I´ve heard first singles of The Hunting Party I´m excited!

Noooo... Iridescent is my favorite song since it's release on ATS in 2010. Not just my favorite song by LP but my favorite song at all.. And that does NOT mean I'm into Ballade stuff. I also love those "Hybrid-Theory-Genre" stuff. But this song is - even if it has not changed my life or sth - my favorite... Can't change ;)

I don't think Chester was criticizing the song rather than stating that they need more variation than that specific style and tone. I'm with you dude, I think Iridescent was one of their best (hell, it became me and my high school girlfriend's song when we were still together), but you have to admit it goes much better with everything else they have to offer thrown in the mix as well.

I like the direction of this album, over the electronic albums. I also hate more of the poppy stuff, I'm really happy that they're more revelatory about the philosophy and the insides - I don't think I've seen this much detail in the previous albums. Impressed.

This inspires me really. I, for a long time, have wanted to make music which I plan on doing. My vocal range isn't where I want it to be, but i'm working on that. Anyway I love so many different styles of music. Which I plan to incorporate into my music. But i've been doing like Mike, i've been going back and looking on what i've grown up with. I'm talking 70's and 80's rock to Linkin Park's older stuff to newer LP and punk stuff and more Nu Metal. And I can't really find Nu Metal music anymore (Besides Of Mice & Men's newest album, I guess Issues is considered Nu Metal, and then My Ticket Home) And this video made me realize, if I want that, I have to go out and make it myself. I have to be a Carnivore. Thank you LP for your music, and also for inspiring me.

I totally agree with LP. I love high energy music, but, IDK, I'm just sorta afraid of this album. Living Things is my favorite, and it will probably be my favorite still after this, but thats because Living Things contains a really good 'personal story' and I really love the sound and lyrics. I'm just hoping THP pulls out with a story in it too, not just a bunch of random songs.

I think people need to give Linkin Park another chance. I mean really? "They're different and not the same." Well duh. To stay up there you have to coarse you music into what people like, or you'll just disappear(in my opinion) all y'all saying this new album's gonna suck need to have a little more faith in the band. I like the new songs they just came out with and is so excited for the tour! But my point is, just because you start out with a bad grade doesn't mean you can't make it better, right? I, for one, won't ever stop loving their music, I find it unique and energizing, as well as motivation for what I happen to be doodling haha.

As long as there's no hard feelings towards previous albums-Lost in the Echo was a great, great song-I don't have a problem with this shift. Linkin Park is, and always has been, about shift. It's what makes them who they are.

I like the new direction they decided to go in for this album. I noticed the bit where M Shinoda says he still wants to make it sound cutting edge and modern. That's the bit I didn't like for the two new songs. The synth sounds way too bright and pop like, they synth no longer has the gritty/crude industrial rock sound that I absolutely loved. You people have done cool and edgy synth effects before. You can do it again.
