I didn't like the original Naga too much, so I went back to my 5 button Logitech. Much more comfortable and I do fairly well without the Naga anyways, but looking at the changes / upgrades they made, I might give it another chance.

Been using it for 3 years hahaha. The click chip or whatever it's called just got replaced but that's just because it's been 3 years of evilish click mashing hahaha Ironically I don't think I treated it well. I brought it everywhere, put in my bag just like a bag of chips, got it fell to the floor few times... Still working well.

I had my Razer naga epic for a while and worked completely well. Mine broke once i started dropping it constantly and then my dog decided to use it as a chew toy. Don't ask how one drops a damn mouse but I manage to :P It still worked after 15 drops though.

my problem with razer isn't breaking or anything, actually from razer devices i had i spilled coffee over my old anansi and nothing happened ! had it for a year but in that 1 year keys had gone horrible wrong , the feel, the skin, coating, they were're horrible, my problem with it was the layout and shape of keys, keys where SO HORRIBLE to push, it made me hate typing for a year (i used to love it) now after i upgraded to G510(old one no s) its freaking awesome i love typing now! and this is my type racer typing stats: with anansi: 86% accurycy and 40wpm with G510: 94% and 70-75wpm !!!

Used the original Naga for 3 years. 2014 version is driving me crazy, I've given it 4 months now and I still accidentally press the 1 key on the thumb. The bevel shape and pronounced size makes them easier to press for sure....

In Massively Multiplayer Online games people use number buttons to cast spells and attacks. They are mainly used for that. They are placed on the mouse so people can cast their spells and attacks quicker.

the g710+ doesn't use "silent switches" they are browns and have rubber o-rings under the key caps to keep the sound down it still makes a good bit of noise if compared to a membrane keyboard.

From my experience with original Naga and Orbweaver: You have to bind them to something. It can be a key, mouse button, makro, profile for any Razer Synapse enabled device. But I don't know if supported games can use them directly.

Just started playing FF14: A Realm Reborn, it's my first ever MMO...and yeah I could do with a lot more buttons, lol. I'll definitely get this. Looks sick. I don't really care about gaming keyboards but the mouse is definitely more influential.

Thanks Linus, thanks to you I got this mouse :P I must say, it is an amazing mouse xD and for those guys who are thinking about buying it but scared about it being an "MMO Mouse"... don't worry it is not exclusively an MMO mouse ! I play a variety of fps games (including mainstream cod and bf4) and I must say the mouse works like a dream! it is sooo much easier to use the number pad on the mouse to change weapons and so on than using the keyboard! so go ahead and get it :) you wont regret ;)

They Improved it and the fact that they are mechanical and are lifted helps people know where they are and I do want one of these very bad as I am a world of warcraft gamer. A grip-y surface is always good because it lets you hold on with ease. I do not think a lot of people will change their original nagas for a 2014 version, but as for me who has a Logtech g600 and finds this one to be a bit more superior I will look into buying this one in the coming weeks because it looks amazing.

This new naga doesn't have the NUM/123 switch on the bottom (by the laser) that allowed the use of the keyboard numbers while the naga used buttons like Page up, DEL and Page down for activation of abilities. One could use the numbers on the keyboard separately of the mouse number pad, giving more keybinds to the keyboard. One may be able to program it as such in Synapse, but the switch was so much simpler. If the buttons on the new one activate faster, and more precisely, all will be forgiven.

I have a Razer Cata Edition Naga and i believe it takes a little time to get used to when you have big hands. After a while you memorize where the buttons are but for having the type of bottons they are they are quite difficult and uncomfortable to use. I hope the new 2014 fits me a little better. Thanks Linus.

I use my naga 2012 for FPS, it all depends on if you are going to take the time to macro the extra buttons(I have) or not and if you have the time to learn and memorize where all the extra buttons are and weather you are hitting the right one or not.

My only problems, if you can even call them problems, is that it took me a while to figure out which side plate / grip worked best for me. I still swap them out now and then to try different feels and for the most part I only make use of 1-6 because the rest are extremely difficult to get to. I guess you would say I have a flop palm grip. Just flopping my hand over the whole thing, anything else feels like work. On second thought, I do find after long game play my hand does start to slip.

Cherry mx blue switches are my favourite for the clicky noise they make and g710+ uses silent switches. Blackwidow ultimate's green backlighting also appeals to me over white led backlight. Not to mention the g710+ is about $30 more than the black widow ultimate where I live.

Guys, is this really comfortable to have so many buttons allover the mouse? Don't you end up pressing something unintensionally all the time when you just want to hold the device... no matter how you grab it? And do those extra buttons give an advantage only when playing games... or is it actually useful during normal office use as well?

Having now watched for a second time (with mate on Skype watching at same time) and noticed that you seem to be going down the naming route of "unboxing and overview" instead of the old "unboxing and first look". Not sure how long you've been doing this now (I just look at what the video's about and click or not), but the overview replacement is far more accurate and betterererer:) Good job.

I guess you weren't aware of the 2012 which came with swappable side grips and had the green LED's as well. And I got my nagas for $40. Best buy had $20 off and then a $20 coupon. Stock up. Get the protection plan on 1, and it covers all. Hell I used the plan on a 2012 green and swapped out the blue one I had. Once they have the 2014 in store I'll swap my first 2012 for it, and bring the other to work.

I see Razer Naga 2014 doesn't have G-shift button and color modes. G600 has 3 color modes 12 + 12 + 12 Two of them has G-shift function. (12x2)+(12x2)+12 = 60 commands you can bind on that mouse for thumb finger. Naga has only 12 :о))))))

i have a few issues with the razer naga mouse: 1. teflon is really bad quality, plastic is really shiny and gets dirty asap, they should have ballanced the sensor position according to the grip - feels wierd when you use it in mmos - like actually using the side buttons, the edge on the right ( the actuall right click button) is sharp and bothers my fingers...

I have the original Naga. Works like a dream even three years later, but I'm starting to get that upgrade itch. What I'll probably end up doing is getting a more shooter-oriented mouse, but keep my Naga in reserve for when Wildstar comes out later this year. Once it finally dies, I'll just get the 2014. Perfect excuse to blow all my money.

Razer comes out with the Naga and Logitech takes that mouse and throws their spin on it with the G600. Then the Naga 2014 comes out and looks a lot like they took a page from the G600. This might just be my opinion, what do you guys think?

Two things. First if you want great ergonomics and a great layout for the thumb buttons look at the Logitech MMO style mouse the G600. Secondly I am having a lot of trouble with synapse 2.0 when using it for my Razer Orb Weaver. it crashes a lot and sometimes just wont work. I have uninstalled and reinstalled synapse 2.0 multiple times it works now but is sporadic at best.

I've had the Naga Hex for 8 months and was not happy with it. Configurating it with the Synapse was kind of a pain... So, I switched gladly to the G600, which is amazing. This Naga, however, sure kicks ass on the side buttons part, but still is quite behind the G600. The G600 is more a complete package for MMO/RPG players and has the extra ring button rest which can help you sometimes. But, overall, it's preference, both are amazing mice, but Razer's Software is keeping Naga from going further.

Might I also add that using something for years on either hand makes it feel better but if you were to put the same amount of time using your appropriate hand your improvement will be much quicker. Being left handed means your nerves are specifically designed for you to use your left hand as your dominant hand. It isn't a choice or preference, it's a genetic trait that you can't change.

There is a 2012 version. It would be really weird that your mice would say 2012, but would be a 2014 version. When did you get your mouse?

I'm sorry but I like the buttons on the left mouse click, this is a mmo mouse, you want buttons that you can actually use. With the buttons in the middle it's much harder to hit.

ok, what year did the first naga come out? I thought 2012 was the first year of the Naga mouse.

and yes, there is a noticeable difference in clicking the left button to clicking the right button which i obviously use alot less frequently, but my mouse is old and it isn't to bad.

i wish u can give more opinion on the wheel left and right press. since thats kinda rare to have in most mouse. Does the wheel's left/right press feels natural? Cuz i'm thinking of buying it just because of the wheel. so i can bind to for ctrl and alt. it would be great for WoW - Arena party targeting macros.

I'm waiting to see if they'll update the Naga Hex with the 2014 ergonomics.

Well, problem is that logitech took the naga and improved it (yes, still a copy paste). This one feels identical with the g600(apart from not having the right button from g600 and as a "plus" it has the in game overlay). And as a personal opinion, I liked the shape of the old naga more (except the glossy part, the shape was ok but it could have been made from some other material).

I know! I always hated changing weapons with the number keys on the keyboard. Also, do the amount buttons get in the way when doing regular internet navigation, word documents, file browsing?

I have played WoW without one and got to the point where I could mash keys well enough and didn't need some screwed up mouse. Sorry but you can't convince me that this is what an mmorpg mouse should be. It needs more top side buttons and heck they could have put some right side buttons on the Razer Naga too.

The other mouse that you had was the razer naga epic, it was confusing me because I have a razer naga and it glows green, the 2 buttons are in the middle of the mouse, and it has to spots to ut your pinkie & ring finger with a changeable side...

I would buy this mouse if you do both, but you can get it aswell, you configure to change weapons or streaks to the buttons on the side so you can swap guns or anything a lot faster then your enemy and in that way win 1v1 fights or even 2v1 fights

I'm left handed and I have my mouse in my right hand, just the way you learnt it, hasn't really got anything to do with being left handed or right handed it's all preference.

Great vid again. The 2014 looks like a win to me. I have an original and I am currently using an m90, and I am not sure which I prefer. Still like blue to green, but lighting is less important than function. Mechanical keys that are easy to id looks great, and the overlay in game is an excellent idea! Glad I'm not the only one who forgets what is mapped where! Now how do I justify buying yet another mouse...? ;-)

I have compared the Naga2012 and 2014 Edition on my own at home. the mechanic buttons and the new wheel are real improvements. Imo the 2012 edtion is more ergonomic especially for small hands. The mouse is just bigger but not heavier then the previous ones, not longer but wider and upper so its difficult to lay down my hand properly on this mouse. The feeling using this Mouse is very uncomfprtable its like you touch a sandpaper if your hands are not sweat drenched. Sorry for my bad english >_

Just wanted to come on here and share that today marks the day of my purchase of one of these mice back in 2015, and i STILL have it to this day working flawlessly. Also i treated it like shit back in my teens, so i’m even more impressed; i hope it will live to see 10 years next year!
