Mr. Charbonneau, you captured the timeless appeal of 3-Rail, and elevated it to a proto' art form. Well done.

Amazing locomotive and video as always. We just watched the blu ray of your layouts from TM videos (Great video by the way) and Caleb noticed you wearing a Pittsburgh Steelers shirt. We’re glad to see another Steeler fan loving the train hobby. Thanks for sharing. Happy Railroading and Go Steelers!!!

Great engine smooth running and detailed. Those GGD cars make a great consist running at speed. Definitely the late 30’s to mid 40’s which is also what I model. Your layout is a wonder.

Wow. Didn’t think much about this engine. But my god is it gorgeous. Can’t decide between this and the fantasy Southern 2-10-4. This engine makes up for the blunder on the J1 whistle.
@normstrains4 жыл бұрын
I was bummed on that J1a, it would have been an easy purchase if it had the correct whistle and Kadee mount.

Norm Charbonneau Well you already have the 2001 version so it’s not that big of a loss. If I get one, I’m going for the 2011 run.

GORGEOUS locomotive! Is that all new tooling? Thanks, Congrats and Enjoy!
@normstrains4 жыл бұрын
From what I can tell it shares most of the tooling with the early 2000s 28072 Hudson along with the one from the 50th Anniversary Set. The wheels are pressed on now as opposed to screw-on and the (main) smoke unit is no longer a mechanical puffer.

Absolutely beautiful. Amazing detail and beautiful locomotive and consist. i presume you'll weather all this stuff eventually?
@normstrains4 жыл бұрын
yes I will eventually convert everything to Kadees too. Engine needs a bit of cosmetic work before weathering. Not sure when I'll get it all done.

Can I ask how long those passenger cars are? They look pretty big; much larger than the usual 18" length. Who builds them? They don't look like Lionel or MTH cars.
@normstrains4 жыл бұрын
Taylor Williams they are 21” GGDs.
@BigBerk7654 жыл бұрын
@@normstrains GGD? I've never heard of them. Do they catalog certain trains each year like Lionel & MTH or do they take requests for certain trains as well? There's quite a few passenger trains I'd love to get for my locomotives, like some Amfleet cars for my Amtrak Genesis or a 20th Century Limited for my Niagara.

Taylor Williams here their site: www.goldengatedepot.com They announce new runs on their site and on OGR occasionally. You can also join their email list.

@@normstrains Thanks, man. I appreciate that. Now I have a new O scale model train company that I can get model passenger trains from. Their cars look very attractive. I'll definitely have to get some.
@amtrakinoscale98114 жыл бұрын
Taylor Williams Think of GGD like K-Line except better. All of their products are of the “my wallet will be bawling hysterically but it’s so worth it” variety. Some cars they do are plastic and not brass or aluminum, but they are built to the same standard. All products are made in China, but the talented men and women that make them are actually proud of their products. Made by hand by Chinese artisans. Their parent company is Sunset Models, who recently bought ERR and is becoming a big supplier of aftermarket TMCC stuff. They also have gorgeous locomotives.

Colin Barner wondering when someone would notice. It seems to be going 4.5-5 per rev. It’s not killing me though, some of my upgraded engines aren’t dead-on but close enough.
