That's amazing that Glock actually had all the original blueprints & made a new mold for this Gun. Where did they find the blueprints in the attic of Gaston Glocks house? Gaston has to be pushing 90 cause he was 50 when he made his first Glock.

@@FoulPet Innovation of a initially great product is the norm. We didn't have weapon lights really in 1980, we didn't have red dots. So naturally as those things were invented, Glock added things like rmr slide cuts, and picatinny rail for laser and light mounting. And usually after initial testing, you use your customers for feedback on what could improve the product, which is where we got the finger grooves and grip stippling texture. Each generation is Glock listening to its customers, but from the get go it was a great design. I personally think a gen 3 with no finger grooves would be the perfect Glock, but they're great reliable guns that are tried and true for almost 45 years
@FoulPet8 ай бұрын
@theshapeexists Glock adds things 10 years after they are considered a common feature on budget pistols. Have they upgraded the sights or trigger yet? They rely heavily on 3rd party products. The founder thought Glock was fine the way it was and that's why you saw nothing new come from them after day one.
@theshapeexists8 ай бұрын
@@FoulPet glock sights are god awful, but I find the trigger fine. It has a better reset than the m&p line. I carry a bunch of different brands of guns, some of which are Glocks. And the absolute only thing I ever change on my carry Glocks is the sights. Everyone that adds bells and whistles to a gun that runs perfectly out of the box ends up making it problematic. Glock is a perfectly serviceable fighting gun out the box. If it wasn't, militaries are police and civilians around the world wouldn't adopt them. My p99s, m&ps, czs, sigs, and rugers have all had feeding problems. Never once had an issue with a Glock with any ammo. Sure it's not perfectly molded to my hand, but that's what training is for. I'll take a slightly less ergonomic gun for 99.9999% reliability than a gun that occasionally jams but is perfectly ergonomic. Guns arent meant to be comfortable, they're to be comforting, especially when you 100% know it won't let you down if your life depends on it. It shoots where I point it and goes bang every time. That's exactly what it's supposed to do. All these other polymer guns are just imitations of a Glock. Some may feel better than others but the damn near 45 year track record of reliability and longevity of Glocks still puts it in first place. You wouldn't even believe how many rounds I've put through my first Glock 17. I don't think any of my other polymer guns will get there without failure, aside from maybe my gen 1 P99
@FoulPet8 ай бұрын
@theshapeexists Not saying Glock does work. It's not a keltec. I'm saying it's far from "perfect" and needs a real upgrade, not just changing the finger grooves. Plenty of comparable pistols that provide a better value for the money and stll being reliable. Berretta and Colt both had service time and revolvers are more reliable. I won't discount service time but it isn't going to make me continue paying $500 for a $300 pistol. I have 2 Glocks ATM. I've had several others. I carry either a P365, P229 or a Ruger LCR. If I planned on taking a mud bath I probably would pick up the Glock. I've not taken a mud bath for over 40 years and don't intend to see much in the way guerrilla warfare. At most, I'd expect to have to deal with 5 or less issues. Plenty of excellent choices for EDC. I have little brand loyalty. I don't own stock in any firearms company. If someone gave me a ticket to pick either a free G19 or PPQ I'd take the Walther.

BTW. I already see a big difference that is not accurate for the period. The first gen Glock as designed DID NOT have a free falling magazine. Glock made it so that the magazine had to be physically stripped from the firearm when empty. He made it that way in case the soldier accidentally hit the magazine release. So the gun is not even an exact replica. What a joke.
