Maids have to keep shut to save their jobs. She did what she was told. It was as such only a part of a work was done by one person. Such as poisonous mushroom, someone got them , next person, third sent to kitchen , next person cooked ,. Someone else gave it 12 prince ruyi son. So only master knew what was happening. Maid who was very long by her side and repeatedly doing some chores, their realises purpose of such chores. She was not an accomplice in ling planning . They only cant open their mouth or leave. They either serve or die.

The trouble started when Hongli chose the throne over Ruyi. If Ruyi had been his first wife and the first empress his second, everything would have been different. Hongli would not have become paranoid as a mere prince. The first empress, as a well-treated second wife, would not have become paranoid as well, nor would she have pushed her children so cruelly that it cost the life of a son. Nor would she have dared to mess with the fertility of others, so Ruyi would have had more children. Gao probably wouldn't have been there either, because she was only put in the harem by his father's orders. Jia would have been there because she was given to Hongli when he was a prince. But Ruyi would have treated her much better in her place. Even if they had met Wei Yanwan at all, Ruyi would not have allowed anyone to torture her, so she would not have become a vengeful sociopath. She probably would have lived as a maid and then married Ling Yunche.

If Yanwan Was very smart about this, she probably would’ve gotten away with it if she just didn’t try to kill her most loyal maid. A maid who knows everything about everything that includes her. It wasn’t a smart move. But she deserves everything she got. I just wish the emperor; who clearly aint shit would’ve gotten his too. I understand he’s all depressed after Ruyi died but I honestly don’t think it’s enough. ESPECIALLY with all the kind loyal loving women who truly were good and did nothing but love him. Knowing that in real life the harem was disgusting in terms of personal hygiene but actually less of a scheming cess pool is kind of ironic. Everybody wanted favour, yes, but they were also trained to obey the Emperor and Empress implicitly and only the real-life 'Ruyi' was disobedient to the point of cutting her hair. In truth people were killed at the wave of the Emperor's finger so staying alive long enough to have children was the focus. Those hairstyles stayed in for months at a time, people rarely washed and often didn't change their underwear for a long time either. People's kids dropped dead in the street at young ages and it was also impossible to prevent sweeping numbers of deaths from waterborne diseases. So everyone kind of focused on staying alive any way they could!

Well, I puzzled over this 'come watch' statement for a bit, but here's what I made of it, as follows: While this personal maid KNEW of her mistresses wickedness & had even often been her 'hands' in the perpetrated evil, this personal maid (attendant) believed in her heart that she, herself, was the one & only person her mistress would never harm, that she & her mistress shared 'one-heart,' closer than sisters. After her mistress attempted to murder her, even using her own finger to apply the poison to the lips of the maid she knew loved her. Only because this maid lived was she able to see her mistresses true face...otherwise, she would have never believed this could ever be. Ruyi & her team dealt that mistress a killling blow to the head...
