Looks awesome. Great job!! I tinted my tailights on my blue 2020 F-150 with VHT Nightshades but I did it the opposite way, I tinted all the red and the reverse light but left the thin chrome strip around the edge natural. (Wish I could send you a photo) I just purchased a new 2022 black F-150 and I'm gonna do it the way you did it. Thanks for the inspiration.👍

Yes it’ll remove with lacquer thinner, I wouldn’t suggest using this product anywhere else other than lights. Using it on your dashboard will take too much product to try and black it out, it’s not gonna cover as quick as normal paint.

How did the spray tint affect your reverse lights? Did it make them to dark when reversing at night that it’s hard to see or no?
@newtouchauto
@newtouchauto Жыл бұрын
The reverse portion of the taillights weren’t sprayed, only the park and brake. The film tint is translucent so the lights will be visible and not hard to see at night. Spraying more than 3 coats is when you could dim the light, the darker you spray the less light will be able to come through. I don’t recommend it but if you decide to spray the headlights try not to go over 2 light coats. Older model vehicles run off bulbs and it’ll definitely effect the brightness of your lights.
@nolanchance2364
@nolanchance2364 Жыл бұрын
how dark are the reverse lights? Big difference? Think I might leave the reverse light portion untinted
@newtouchauto
@newtouchauto Жыл бұрын
The white reverse lights are actually brighter than the red so it comes through bright. Even though this product is meant to be translucent some installers may disregard the instructions and go too dark, the lights won’t perform well when that happens. LED lights are always the better to cover vs bulb lights.

Since this video I’ve moved onto vinyl film tints which last as long as you like it to. With the liquid film in this video it will fade over time from the sun rays and wash chemicals but it’s easy to remove with lacquer thinner.

Does the tint stay gloss after a few month, or has it faded away
@newtouchauto
@newtouchauto 4 ай бұрын
No it won’t remain glossy, after 6-8 months it’ll begin to fade into a lighter shade. You can always respray the lights with 1-2 coats. Using film tint you won’t have to worry about fading, it’ll always have the same look until you decide to remove it. If you’re interested in watching a video on how to install film tint I have 4-5 uploaded to my channel.

Hey how’s it going and thanks for checking out the video. @@yungswagg8848 there are 2 ways to apply light tints and that’s spraying it or applying film tints. It seems that they applied film tint the first round bc the spray tint won’t come off in that manner after 2 hours. Whenever film tints are applied or even vinyl wraps you have to let it sit in the sun before clearing out future issues. If no movement happens then it was applied correctly, if not as soon as it hits the outdoor heat you’ll experience the film crinkle up.
