Hey Lisa!! Your channel is a huge comfort for me! Makes the autism happy, don’t know how else to explain it! For one of your days, I wonder if you could try stir-frying potatoes. There’s a Sichuan dish that does that, I believe.

@@erikabedir8622 I would say it’s high?…I’ve been surrounded by outdated information about it for a long time, so I don’t quite know how to explain it. I can speak coherently, although I do occasionally stumble over my words. I don’t like touch unless I’m the one in control of it. I hyperfixate, and have special interests, one of them obviously being Pokémon. I fidget with my hands and tend to make random sounds, sometimes in place of talking. I also can’t read conversations that well. However, I also have anxiety, which kinda cripples my functionality in some areas.

Lisa could you please make fish head curry also known as (muri ghonto) Muri ghonto is a bengali recipe. In this recipe, crispy fish head is cooked with rice and potatoes in some spices. Salmon looked KILLER!!! It was perfect. I'm so proud! I remember seeing the other video pop up in my feed a while ago. I find that it helps to put the potato flat on an oiled baking sheet, that side kinda fries in the oven, and you can flip halfway. It takes about 45 minutes total, better with convection if you have it! ❤️

For the potatoes, I think you would get better results if you skipped boiling them and instead just tossed them in oil and seasoning and roasted them in the oven. When you boil and then roast you’re fighting against a lot of water that makes it harder for the potatoes to crisp up. You cut them small enough that roasting shouldn’t take all that long.
@juppertan2 жыл бұрын
Not true, look up Kenji Lopez's recipe for roast potatoes.
@x0Vinny0x Жыл бұрын
To get a crunchy exterior on your potatoes... Par boil them and shake gently in a bowl with a lid. The outside of the potatoes will be coated in a mashed potato like texture. Then bake. The mashed potato like exterior aerates, creating micro blisters giving the crunch!

@Lisa Nguyen- The food looked delicious!! For timing of the potatoes, what I figured out is that it takes them about 20 mins in the oven at 425 F to get nice and crispy. So I would usually start cooking the veggies and any additional stuff right after I put the potatoes in the oven. Hope this helps :)

Hey Lisa! I would not use a wire rack with potatoes, especially if you want a golden brown color to them. Also them retaining moisture from the boil process might’ve also been contributing to that problem. Hope that helps!
@StoryOfLIfe122 жыл бұрын
I always learned that u sear the topside first for ~30seconds and than flip on the skin side, so the salmon juices stay in and dont leak out. Keeps them very soft and juicy

Lisa you should try Sopes. It’s a Mexican dish that consists of a fried masa type of base and is usually topped with something savory. In my family we usually make queso, beans, potato or meat sopes and top with cabbage, queso fresco, and a smooth, blended, tomato salsa. How they’re made depends on the region but they’re so good🤤

Tip: you can see if the pan is ready to recieve food such as the pan’s aluminum closing its pores. When you spill water droplets in, they just sit on top like bubbles, the pan is ready, but if the water sticks to the pan, the pan is not ready!

Great video Lisa. I have a pro tip tho- So my suggestion would be invest in a cast iron skillet. They are perfect for cooking salmon. Your cooking technique is on point (skin side down first), but before you flip squirt some lemon juice in the pan (watch out for some splatter cuz the pan will be super hot) and then plop the pink side down on the simmering lemon juice. You’ll develop a nice crust, and a yummy lemon flavor as well on the crust. Sprinkle with a little fresh dill, and bon appetite 😋
