Rebels this time were supplied by Turkey. Also they were trained by Ukrainian special forces. Israel helped by keeping Hezbollah blocked within Lebanon. USA aviation and Kurdis militias blocked the Iraqi militias coming from Iraq to help Assad. Russia couldn't do anything there just by using its air power. The Russian troops in the ground were limited in moderate numbers. So it was a multiple combined number of reasons. What is also interesting is that now we have a closer alliance between Turkey and Ukraine. Turkey has deeply denied any official territorial secession of Ukrainian territory.

It won't carry on, though, as Ukraine will be forced to give up the stolen territory in 2025 and will not be granted sufficient protection for the free rest of its territory. So Russia will be able exploit the new land and the former Ukrainians living in the stolen areas and thus strengthen the Russian army over the next two years before striking again. China ist said to attack Taiwan in 2027/2028. I bet Russian will use this to have a third go at Ukraine. Let's hope Poland, Finland and the Baltics will protect the Rest of Europe as the Western countries still refuse to do their homework and Trump hates the EU anyway and would love weak and failing European democracies.

The question must be asked what will happen now in terms of regime/government in Syria. Let us hope that they are all moderate and have the will to bring about peace. The entire region needs peace and stability. I hope that they understand in Syria that if they go in the direction of extremism again, there will be many who do not want a united Syria, another "civil war" will follow. The many millions of Syrian refugees want to return to their homeland, rebuild the country. They do not want a second kind of Assad, they do not want a second kind of ISIS. Learn to work together as a group towards a common goal, peace. Is this also the start of the fall of Iran or even Russia? I hope so, there are many signals that things are not going well in Russia at all, but appearances are being kept up. There is no rebel army in Russia, so pressure from that side will not be exerted on Putin overnight. We do not actually know that Putin still has it under control. We hear or see nothing in the trend that there is a shift in the population's thinking about Putin. After all, anyone who thinks differently or openly does not support Putin is arrested. Just like in Damascus, there are overcrowded prisons full of political or so-called political prisoners.

That offensive is ... Shall we call it "interesting"? It was conducted with actual military strategy, something rarely if ever seen among jihadis. And fighting with them were... interesting people. People who wore proper military gear and professional uniforms -- fully equipped, tip to toe, other than for markings which would indicate a nation-state, though the uniforms resembled Israeli kit. They are on video engaging in the kind of tasks that a professional soldier in the West would do after a victory, while the haphazardly dressed jihadis ran around shouting Allahu Akbar! and firing in the air. _Someone_ was commanding and directing those jihadis. Turkey? Ukraine? Israel? Perhaps even the US? Or a mix of all of them? If I had to place a bet it was a cooperative effort, and the guys I saw on video were Mossad. Dont blame russia or other countries assads army gave up, no one can fight other peoples fight alone.. cowards will just stay as cowards.
The analysis in a nutshell. Western well planned and executed sting operation against Russian geopolitical strategy conducted on Syrian soil .

Your smoking something... No western country would like to stick their hand into that bi-hive.. Everyone busy in Ucraine... The power vaccuume lead to the fall of the regim... - Out of FAB bombs, the main projection of Russian/Assad power... ( Sweden )

Yes. Clearly the CIA payed off millions of Syrian people to rise up and fight against their brutal leader who used chemical weapons against them. After your next puff, don't forget to pass that to me ok?

NO - they are writing the facts after the events to suit the Am3ric4n narative. "a broken Iran" the Iran economy grew by 5% last year - thats MORE than any Western country.

Thats the wrong interpretation though. Russian geo-political strategy will do just fine with Turkey in Syria and be more stable. The West have to watch Israel and the Kurds now that Turkey have moved in.

As opposed to the people of Syria finally having enough of the Assad repression and rising up.

Tass and times of India. Tass said they destroyed the terrorist and they ran away. Now Tass is saying they always wanted negotiations and peace lol. Terrorist to opposition in 1 day. Iran also. Maybe you should get your news from al Jazeera and Tass and not China daily. Traitor.

Doesn’t help, of course, that Syria’s oil fields and only source of income were essentially stolen, with US military bases illegally occupying the country and preventing the Syrian government from accessing the oil. Turkey’s role in all of this going back over a decade has been disgraceful but they could only pilfer the oil with US/Western assistance. It’s always worth pointing out that the only reason any of us are talking about this or can even find Syria on a map is because of the oil resources the region has. Nobody knows how this will go but we can guess that installing terrorists into government in Syria will not lead to peace and prosperity for the people there.

Ah yes, Syrian oil...
@absoluteapricot3 күн бұрын
Also idf illegally occupies Golan heights for decades now. They're a major player in this great game against Iran. Syria is a small, weak country with no one really on their side. Oil plays a part, but it's not the whole picture.
