1988 I was on St John’s in Virgin Islands and a guy asked iff I heard Waiting for Columbus. I had not. I bought it a day or two later. One of the finest records I have ever had the pleasure of listening to. Masterpiece

@@TheTinyAutistsGuideToTheGalaxy I would say that to your face anywhere, anytime. One would think with a user name like the one you're using, that you would have a sense of humor. At least you let everyone know how worldly and self-righteous you think you are. Sorry to hurt your delicate feelings, Karen. BTW, I have seen LF at least 6 or 7 times. They were freaking incredible every time. I even got the chance to hang out with them in the green room at the Fox in Boulder. An awesome group of guys they were. That band most certainly has a sense of humor.

Always considered one of my life's greatest pleasures is having seen Little Feat in 1977, fronted by the great Lowell George, backed by the tremendous Richie Hayward, accompanied by the wonderful Paul Barrere, with Billy, Sam and Kenny of this incarnation. They opened for Fleetwood Mac at the Forum in Inglewood, CA., but Feat was why we went! What a great, great band!

I saw them around 1977 or there abouts in Auckland New Zealand. I arrived late and heard a clonky version of I think One good women, and remember thinking, how can a clumsy support band do a cover of the main act's material. As I took my seat, I realised it was actually Little Feat. They sounded aweful and I thought... well maybe they're just a good recording band, but after about four songs the sound tightened up, the mix was finally balanced, and Lowel's vocal began to resonate. Long story short... it was the best band I'd ever heard live, even including Frank Zappa's outfit I'd seen a few months earlier. I experienced a transcendent evening , so wonderfull that I'm lost for words to describe. Another guitarist I was working with at the time joined me and my flatmate with his last minute date ( we had both just split from our girlfriends and I took my flatmate, where he asked the office girl from his warehouse). At the end of the concert we returned to my bandmate's flat for a big party, and were shocked when in walked his date ( the secretary) with none other than Lowell George on her arm. Shehad never attended a rock concert before, and had apparently gone backstage, then seeing Lowell sitting there, had simply taken him by the hand and led him out to a Taxi, and into our party. Lowell was not well known in NZ, and looked fairly ordinary, wearing denims and a thick beard, so that most people at the party didn't recognise him. I was introduced to him, and nodded to say hello. Being so intoxicated, he didn't know which way was up, let alone how to string a sentence together, but grunted something in response ; so I left him to enjoy the gathering and refrained from asking him the million questions that came to mind, and had to leave to get home myself. A week later when I spoke to my friend he told me excitedly that Lowell had promised all sorts of things like producing a record for him if he accompanied him back to the US. In fact this was all talk, and when they arrived at US Customs, both my guitarist friend and Lowell's friend ( the secretary who had brought him to the party) were both turned aside and sent back to NZ, seeing they no garantee of work for their temporary visa. Lowell just left them standing at the gate and walked in without them. I'll always remember the incandescent performance the band achieved after a slow warmup, and just how trashed Lowell was at the party. ( good times!)😊

So good to hear this music live and breathe! This is a very legitimate “Little Feat” quality wise, and I saw em in 1978…. Every bit of this show was top notch! Better than when I saw them 10 yrs ago. The new guitarist/singer really completes the sound.

Unbelievable "Times Loves a Hero" on this performance. The instrumentals and solo performances will blow you away. Starts around 28 minutes and runs for about 20 minutes. Strap-in and get ready for an incredible performance. It will bring you back decades to some amazing writing by Lowell.

We attended our first Little Feat concert mid-70s at the National Theater in DC. The huge cloud of smoke that persisted during the show kept the place very happy. Don't know how the National withstood the bass speakers! We still don't know how we got home, so forget designated drivers who simply breath during the show. The Feat will always be our favorite band. Thanks for sharing the magical videos!

As a Gen X'er I'm only later in life exploring some of my parents' generations music. Little Feat seems to have been almost the Grateful Dead of L.A. in some regards. Cross over with Zapa. Legendary.
