I knew about the Little Nemo movie when I was little as I had it on VHS. Never knew about the NES game until like 7th grade or so when I started getting into emulators. The hardest Capcom NES game I've ever played, even more so than Mega Man 1.

Man, I truly love this game and always reminds me of my late cousin when I play it. Seems like fate as I recently uploaded my final boss encounter of this a few days ago. I got stuck pretty much where you're at when I was a kid but I still adored the game. Fortunately, it's one of those I revisited later in life and was lucky enough to complete. I love this game and I had it when I was a kid. It definitely brings back memories but I think I have forgotten just how difficult this game is (or for me anyway). I love it's graphics and the soundtrack. Thanks for playing and filming this, it's brightening my day. 😀

This is one of my favorite NES games! The movie (Adventures in Slumberland) is great too. I have a half sleeve on my left arm that depicts Nemo shooting the scepter at The Nightmare King (also the last boss in the game).

Hi Erin, thanks for the video! Little Nemo was a favorite of my NES library. Lizard form allows you to go through smaller passages previously untraversable, despite Nemo riding piggy back.

I feel so much better about myself.😊 I think this game requires more patience and determination than a lot of other games and I agree with you that it feels like you are way underpowered without your animal friends. I plan on trying it again soon though, just to see level 3.😂

I loved this game as a kid. It sure was hard though. There's an animated movie too. It's on Tubi. I think the good animals hurt you because they're wild. You tame them by feeding them candy. Either that or Capcom just wanted to make the game even harder! Haha

Man I used to love this game! I picked it out when I was a kid just based on the screen images on the back of the box, I hadn’t see the movie yet. Such an odd eerie feel with this game. Watching it still makes me feel uneasy, in a good way though.

This was a game I never played as a kid and played it for the first time fairly recently. The concept of using the animals and stuff is really cool, and the graphics are fun and charming! But, I'm 100% with you on the keys thing. Searching for keys kinda bogs down the game a bit to me. There's a few levels where you don't have to do much/if anything with keys and they're a lot more fun I think. Thanks for the video, always nice to have something fun to watch during the work day!

I remember this NES game too. I played a lot in my childhood, I learned how to deal with various types of enemies. I nearly reached the ending of this game, but the final boss gave me a headache, I didn't find out the ideal attack pattern back in the 90's end. I played through not long time ago on Retroarch and I really liked the game's levels and music. 🙂

This game got plenty of hype. Had a commercial. Nintendo Power magazine was all over it. I really enjoyed renting it. It's a really great game. Why wasn't this game more successful? I have absolutely no idea. It's a classic! It's not expensive to collect either. I have over 100 NES/Famicom games but haven't collected this one yet. It's just on the top of my list.

The lizard is capable of entering small spaces which is what that flower friend was explaining to you. That small space has a key before you get to the bee which you use to fly up to get another key and avoid the spikes. In just that beginning part is already 3 keys. Then all you need to do is locate 3 more keys.

This is one of my childhood favourites! I say childhood because I have a tough time playing it today 😅 not that I was able to beat it back then. I remember getting to a scrolling level that’s a train. So trying to grab the keys well the train was moving was essential, and if you missed one you’d have to do it again 😅 hopefully I’m remembering that right, it has been a while 😂 Still a good game I hope I may actually beat one day 🛌 🚂

As a kid, I never got past the train level except with game genie because I need to hear that awesome nightmare land music and at the time, that was the only way I could listen to it. Now as an adult playing it after all these years I still can't get past the train level. 😅

It's not too often that you play a game I'm so familiar with (sadly, it wasn't for very long). I don't remember if there's a key there, but that part at 11:16 when you're riding the lizard, you were supposed to walk into that narrow tunnel underground with the lizard (he can walk through narrow gaps). I've played through this game several times, and it does get pretty challenging. But never impossible. It's all about having patience. And trial and error.

I owned this game as a kid and beat this game its a classic nes hard game that require a lot of patience. Fun fact the movie came out before the game and its a classic. This is a nice attempt at this game but i will said this the only stage in the game that don't have monster suit is level 3 and the 2 levels that don't have checkpoint are level 3 called the house of toys is more like the house of madness and the final level called nightmare land that level will show you no mercy and i hope one day that erin will be beat little nemo the dream master

6:33 Pro gamer move right there. This game is never in top 10 hardest NES games lists and I sometimes feel it should be. It's not brutally hard per se but just like Contra or Ghosts 'n Goblins, it requires alot of memorization...Oh wait, that's pretty much the whole NES library.

So Flip is a "trickster" character. He's always out for mischief and A number 1. He's basically the closest thing Dream Land has to an outcast/criminal. He moves the plot along in the movie by convincing Nemo to use a key the Dream King entrusted to him to open a door Nemo was expressly told never to open. This releases the Nightmare King who kidnaps the Dream King forcing Nemo to go on an adventure to rescue him from Nightmare Land.

Nice try Erin. You're not the only one who got stuck in that place the first few times. The first few times I tried again many times to the point of getting frustrated, but not because I couldn't find the keys, but because of the difficulty of getting past the enemies without being damaged until I died. I'll give you a hint for the next time you play: Try to go through the narrow cave entrance just to the left-under the tree... Thank me later😉

So at the end, you have to listen to the guy literally, you take the lizard and actually walk up the side of the tree, up to the next screen, up the trees. The Monkey has this same ability, but can also punch.

I'm with you, zero nostalgia for this game and I find it so tedious. Much to learn from Nintendo and its simple but effective gameplay. This was nice to look at but its feels overthought for its own good. It's normal people love it though, it's pure nostalgia fuel if you played it back then, you can feel it even today.
