One of the few Australian bands that cracked the US charts. Glenn Shorrock (the lead singer) still tours mainly in Australia. This was also the original Little River Band, not be confused with the American tribute act that goes under the same name.

I was 11 or 12 when this was new & I LOVED their sound, songs, everything! I was a shy kid with no friends & paid a lot of attention to every detail of all music & their style... and still listen to a lot today, at 55 - mostly, to watch others appreciate great music from back in the day! I was working in radio in San Francisco in engineering when this song came out. My chief engineer loved this song because it reminded him of when he was dating his wife in more innocent times. He has passed on, but I will always remember how he cranked the volume up to cover up his bad singing

I was 14 when this came out in 1978. My parents loved the Glenn Miller sound & played it for me to enjoy, too. I like the way this is filmed as opposed to videotaped. The sound is as lush as the visuals. Enjoyable in so many ways. Thanks for the memories!

I tell ya what, Harri! This band is phenomonal live. I saw them in concert about 10 years ago and was so amazed at how good they sounded. I was a very young girl when this band was popular, but it was one of my parents favorite bands. My mom was always playing their music on the record player. Great song!

was it the same band? I know there's currently an American band with the same name, performing some of the original songs. Glenn Shorrock (original lead singer from the 70s) has been in a legal battle with them for years.

@@chriskelly9476 it's the same band but I was not aware that some of the originals weren't with the band anymore. There were 3 originals that were no longer with them. At least that was at the time that I saw them 10 years ago. I don't know what the line-up of the band is now though.

This is a great soft rock band from Australia. You've done a few of their songs already. They had a lot of great hits especially in the 70's-80's such as "Happy Anniversary", "Lonesome Loser", "It's A Long Way There", "Take It Easy On Me", "The Other Guy", "The Night Owls", "We Two" etc.

Couple yrs - a couple kids later with, "Duane" (the Elvis) wannabe. Welp, noone saw him anymore he just up & disappeared. Story told: They sold some great tasting hotdogs that summer. 😋 😊😂

For the record according to wikipedia it was #1 in Canada on the "RPM Adult Contemporary" chart, and #7 on the "RPM Top Singles" chart. It peaked at #3 on the US Hot 100. The album this song is from: "Sleeper Catcher" peaked at #16 on the Billboard 200 chart.

Not sure when you recorded this one, but I think it's about your fifth reaction to LRB, you know them a bit now, you did some early stuff and some later stuff. They were a great Aussie band for sure. You could try some even later stuff when John Farnham took over vocals after Glenn left.
