Day 22 - April Vlogs - Little Drops of Wonderful

Welcome to Day 22 of my attempt to vlog every day in April! It's bank holiday Monday and we visit some kittens, plus I cast on some MORE socks and make a paella :)
(My channel is about crochet, knitting, yarn, crafts and all the good stuff. I live in Kent, in the UK, with my long-suffering husband and my 2 delightful daughters.)

Thanks Ali!! Same to you. I can see that you were able to get in a little knitting. Loved sharing the various parts of your day with you and Phoebe. What cute pets your friend has!! Here in the US we go back to work, school, etc on Monday (yesterday). Wish we had a day or two grace after holidays -- to relax after the celebrations and family gatherings and to get the house back in order (like this ever happens - lol). The little lobster stitch keepers/holders from Dan are delightful. Tell him that he scored with his fans for the smiles. Hugs and happy knitting and crocheting.

I grew up in Dartford, after having been born at West Hill Hospital. That was 72 years ago. And Dartford Grammar is where my brother went to school, and Mick Jaggar used to live near my Aunt! So now letting memories continue to flow back as I continue on with eating my lunch. Thanks for another lovely video.

Thank you Ali. I'm going to see if I can pick up the gusset stitches on my self-striping socks this morning before heading out for the day. Tell Phebe her school bag is gorgeous! And I think I saw her slides. The guinea pig is nearly as big as she is! Lots of fun watching and tell Dan I'm remembering to squash the like button. I like them all, I just forget to press it. It was a good reminder that is staying with me.

Hi Ali and Phoebe you have been busy bees this morning, love your bag Phoebe 😀😀. I used to be a huge fan of the Rolling Stones in the 1960s and went to see them regularly-my parents thought the Beatles were fantastic so that was the kiss of death for me as a teenager. They hated the Rolling Stones and would have been horrified if they had known I was at their concerts😀😀. Lovely to see where you were born and yes, I agree, a blue plaque needed. That paella looks lovely, think I’ll have to try it! Enjoying my morning, eldest daughters last day of school so she left in plenty of time and youngest daughter had sleep over at a friends so it’s been a lovely peaceful return to reality!! Topped off with a cuppa and your vlog, thank you!

thank you for the nice start to my morning, off to work i must go.....i shall knit a few rounds in my car on the lunch break, oh, it's going to be a hot day today! Hard to knit anything but socks in the heat! So sweet you drive past where you were born! That must be Dan's favorite location in all the world! Awww, you did have a great holiday! So hard to go back though eh?! We have ten days of public holidays in a row coming up in Japan - the regular Golden Week run of two long weekends back to back with the middle usual work days having been designated for the abdication and accession ceremonies for the old/new emperors. I am so tired, I can't wait! I've been debating doing a vlog a day for the ten days. Would people be interested, do you think??? Feeling nervous just thinking about it!

I loved the little info on Mick Jagger and the school. What is a blue placard? And I also loved the knitting info, want to learn this thing called knitting and DPN's. I've purchased circular needles... one day I will be brave enough to actually pick them up and use them lol. The red lopsta, as they say here in Maine, stitch marker is so adorable!

I only began with knitting relatively recently, thank goodness for the University of KZbin :) xx Here in the UK the organisation "English Heritage" started the blue plaque scheme in London to connect notable people from history with buildings - so for example you might see a blue plaque on the building where a famous scientist, prime minister or artist was born, or once lived, or even died. It was hard going to work today, we have another public holiday this Thursday for Anzac Day so it is also going to be tough getting out the door Friday.

How do you get on with shirt circulars? They look so small and tight to me. We had our last day today (except hubby who was back for teacher training day today), so I know what you mean about it going to be hard. I am Not. Looking. Forward. To. It.

I used to love them but since using DPNs more recently I find the short circulars feel quite fiddly! I definitely favour DPNs now 👍🏻 Good luck with the return Lise! I hope it all goes well, at least we have some bank holidays to look forward to 🤗🤗

My Addi short circulars are 20cm. I wonder if that would make enough of a difference for you.
