I have family buried in this cemetery in Chattanooga. It is a beautiful place. As you drive into and around the winding drives, you are taken into a peaceful, sanctified setting that is sheltering and reverent with respect for the ones whose remains lie there. It is a carefully tended cemetery. Prepare to stay a while. You will want to spend time to take it in. What a tender story you are sharing with your subscribers. I hope you find that his life was well-lived. He lives on through a woman who has, and is, doing that. Best regards.

That is so sweet Marilyn. This post is months ago but I know it is all a part of her journey. We're all connected more than we know & there are no coincidences. I found much of my family's heritage through ancestry too. I was able to travel to my my mother's birthplace & visit not only the graves of her great great grandparents but some of her homes. I was able to bring her ashes to rest in the family cemetery and take her back to their beginning. I treasure knowing more & honoring my ancestors. Your bringing light to her history is a gift. Bless you! 💝🙏

My husband received an email this morning from the son of his Navy commander who was killed 53 years ago in an flight accident in Vietnam. He is asking the squadron for any information they could share about his Dad. We spent the morning digging out photos of his father. This man made a huge impression on my husband who was 19 when he died. It has been an honor to help his son fill in some the blanks about his father. Thank you for sharing your journey with us

As a girl my Granddad told me about a Capt' McNaughton of the Argyle and Sutherland Highlanders, a man who my Granddad said "The would have followed him through the gates of He'll. He was so loved and respected." Capt' McNaughton died a week before the end of WWll, his car was blown up by an anti tank mine. That man has been part of my memories all my life, I don't know if he married and had children, but I hope he did, and that something exists in the world of him.

“Wow”, I said in hushed, almost faded tones swirling inside my head. “She found her father. -Yesterday.” I stopped the video, so as to try and take it all in. If hearing that stopped me in my tracks, what must have been the initial impact and repercussions on you, Susan? I just sat there quietly, thinking…. for a very long time before resuming the video. Now, I’ve always known my father. Yet I was a taken back as to just how much... or little, such unfolding news could alter the images you have been drawing, erasing, re-drawing and painting in the sketch book you have carried since childhood. May you get the details you have so longed for all these years, and the closure you need to feel complete. May your journey be a good one, satisfying to your soul, clarifying to your mind, and freeing to your heart. May God bless you and prepare you for each step you are about to take, and what you will find around the corner. -Hugs.

You are such an amazing beautiful woman. I love to hear all about your life and your loved ones. You always bring tears to my eyes wishing that I still had my family. Unfortunately, out six siblings I only have my oldest brother. I feel so lonely at times that one day one of us will leave. The good thing is that my brother is married and has children. I never married and have no children. I had a son who was still born and would have been thirty three this year. Thank you for sharing about you and little Dezi. He is the cutest little dog. Oh Susan, your video brought me joy and tears. I found my father when I was 38, and he was in his 60's and in good health. He's buried in a veterans cemetery in Fort Snelling, MN. No ancestry DNA Kits back in 1983. So sorry to hear your Dad passed away, but thankful you have a kindred soul in the veteran that reached out to you. Visiting your father's grave will be so meaningful. Can't wait to hear about the rest of your story as it unfolds. Thank you for the link to those wonderful socks and that handbag takes my breath away. Something made with care and love always touches our hearts. Your videos are like vignettes of movies and the music you have created just heals my soul. My Mom believed in Angels that would live among us and teach us lessons. She would have told me you were one of those Angels. Wishing you and little Desi a Happy Valentines Day💕. His little kisses on your cheek were so precious. Love you both ...😘🤗 hugs....Sherry

What a heart wrenching video Susan…..it will help to conclude who you are entirely and not just the half that was your Mum…..it may be a traumatic journey that you’ve still got to tread, but for your long term peace of mind it’s one that needs to be trod. I myself have a long story…..it would need a book to get it all down, it’s not a happy story as both my parents were narcissists and gave me away to my wonderful grandparents at 3 weeks old for them to bring me up…until 9 years later when they had a second child they came and took me back to help bring up the new baby…..too much happened to go on with the story, but safe to say my husband who I met at 14 years old …..he was 16……was my saviour. They were cruel to me right to the end of their lives ….which was just a few years ago ……but wonderful parents to their other child who is just like them…I thank God every day for letting my grandparents bring me up the first 9 years because I too may have turned out cruel like them. So I sympathise with your plight Susan even though it’s a different path to the one that mine was. God bless and good luck. 😘🌸

I'm so happy you are finding the information your heart needs. I must say that Ancestry is an amazing tool. We also have a story in our family of finding an unknown sibling..... my husband has a half-brother he knew nothing about. His father has been gone since 2000 and we only found out about this a couple of years ago. Actually, my youngest son submitted Ancestry first and called us asking if we knew a person that was listed as a close relative. We hadn't heard the name before and really gave it no more thought, but then later my husband and I decided to do the Ancestry thing and this name came up again. In the meantime, my husband's cousins were giving him information and low a behold we actually met this person. All was well. The family was gracious in all manner. My husband has two half siblings that he knew about but this one was a total surprise to everyone. My husband's father, and the father of all these siblings and half-siblings had a baby with a woman when he was in college. He was not married at the time, but she was. Apparently, my husband's mother knew nothing of this, nor apparently did any of the other siblings. How I wish we were able to get more information. It turns out that this man grew up close to where my husband and I grew up, and we all tried piecing as much of the story together as possible. My husband and I hosted all the siblings and half-siblings that summer and it was quite wonderful to see everyone communicate and be so gracious and caring. It has given this man some closure in knowing about his family. I only wish the same for you. Take care.

Spent an entire day cleaning up a flooded basement - too much rain and already soaked ground. I'm recovering from it this weekend. I feel like I did 300 squats and my friend told me I probably did with all the bending I did while cleaning. I'm grateful my body allowed me to get this all done - it was overwhelming but I took it one steps at a time and got everything dry. I am loving the new Elf Hello Hydration moisturizer - nothing else worked for me this winter but it has made my skin soft and moisturized finally. So happy you found your father.

Hi Susan, I have to say this is the first time I will be committing on your channel here. I have watched several of your videos and I do enjoy them very much. I do have to say though watching them while I put on my makeup is not always a good idea. I do get emotional easy and listening to them I can get a little teary eyed. I started listening to ones about your father and everything you have been saying on that. I do hope you get to visit his grave one day, that will make him so proud. I wish you happiness in your new home and you Desi will love it so much because you are close to your loved ones now. You will get yo spend time with your grandchildren and that is important. I’m one year older than you but I do appreciate your stories so much and the courage it takes you to tell them sometimes. God Bless you and thanks for the journey and gives me time to reflect in my own life. 🌺💖🌸
