Hi! Here is my favorite makeup for 2019 showing a full face of makeup from primer to setting spray! I take you on my weekly trip to Ulta and various drugstores. I also share with you an intimate talk about me and makeup as a kid. I talk a lot about my inspiration, Bobbi Brown, makeup artist.

I adore you & Dez! So for me I remember my go to make up in my teens was Cover Girl clean make up liquid and Maybelline mascara. Growing up in S. Fla. we always had those sun kissed cheeks. I think most men go for the girl next door, no make up. Oh sure! That's what they say, but put some make up on and they lose their minds.

My favorite makeup product for 2019 is Elf's quad cream blush. It looks like a natural flush, you get 4 colors and it has staying power. As for skincare, my 85 year old mother started using a moisturizer, Genes Vitamin E and Swiss Collagen Creme. When I saw what it did for the elasticity in her face, I went to Amazon and bought a double pack, 16 oz each, for $19.00. It is the best moisturizer that I have ever used. Once again, Susan, you created a beautiful video. I love how authentic you are.

I asked my husband about makeup... he said...”no... it means you care and you want to be the the most beautiful your features can be! “ He felt men who said that were maybe afraid they would lose the woman to other men? Like maybe they are insecure in themselves? This was lovely video...you do glow! Absolutely beautiful! I love the Lancome stick foundation.. I want to go on errands or wherever and feel FIERCE! Thank you. My journey into makeup was similar to yours, and I still love it, as you do. Each video, you remind me of myself, and how the "be pretty" mantra is, and has been, and will be, for all our lives. My husband is in the hospital, has been on life support. Doctors, after two weeks, strongly insisted I allow them to "pull the plug." I said a strong "No!" He had been sedated while they intubated him. I leaned over, best I could, and asked if he felt like they were torturing him. I was, as usual, wearing "daytime" makeup. He opened one eye, and that was all I needed to see. I said, "He wants to live! And I will not take that away from him!" They immediately put him in an ambulance for the three-hour trip to the city, and he has remained alive. He was quadriplegic when I met him, has remained so for the past 20 years, but I love him, care for him at home, and we will remain so, in our little town of less than 1100, until the day we die. And I wear makeup, dresses, and heels as often as I can, because he likes me to dress that way, and unless I am mowing the lawn, planting the garden, or washing the car, I dress and make up to lift his spirits, and to emphasize the ways in which I am a strong, yet beautiful WOMAN. Your videos on KZbin help to remind me how important that is -- and how important romance is in our daily lives. Thank you!

Sues I probably have said this but I just don't know of another woman who has skin as pretty as yours, I just want to write down everything and get them all....lol...can't do that...the thing is, you achieve a flawless glowing face by using lots of drugstore skincare and not embracing everything that's high end. Oh Karen that is such a sweet thing to say to me. I am not a professional when it comes to skincare, but it seems to me that is medical grade skincare worked....that's all anybody would use. I think a lot of skincare is companies that prey on us and just want to take our money. I use 4 products on the morning and 4 at night....I think all are under $15...lol....I don't think I have beautiful skin, but for 65 I am pleased that is feel soft and looks bright. I have plenty of flaws, but I always have! Thank you for being so kind...I think taking care of our skin is just so fun and such a challenge!!!

There are men in our family that hate for their wives to wear makeup but my husband likes it. He honestly doesn’t care if I wear it or not but when I do he tells me how pretty I am and after being together a total of 45 years I really appreciate that he notices and acknowledges that I made the effort. I am 59 years old and I just got brave enough during Christmas to try bold colors because I thought I couldn’t wear them. Guess what? I can and I will! I received so many compliments when I wore them. I guess others know better than we do sometimes.

A memory from my childhood with my sister was turning over the chest of drawers and using a desk lamp with a 45 record taped to it as a spotlight. It was light a stage to sing on. We would sneak to get our mother's lipstick and rouge. It was red. Of course, we used a hairbrush as a microphone. I have always liked makeup too.

My mother had that type of mascara too. Sometimes I think she had the same package of it for decades! She'd use spit (oh, dear) to moisten it for application. I shudder to think of the germs on that thing that I would sneak and borrow! Survived it.

Awww, Desi just gets my heartstrings 💜My new favorite that I've had sitting around but never really used is Mac Soft and Gentle Mineralize Skinfinish. Wow! Setting powder /light natural glow/hint of healthy, light Bronze /subtle natural highlight. Touch of blush over it. I've had 2 compliments this past week that my makeup looks really nice -natural. Dust it lightly over cheeks, tip of nose, or all over with a light hand . A tiny dusting is just enough 💜💜💜 I'm 62 and stopped using bronze and highlighters, but this is my new HG💜🌠

My mom always told me " a little bit of makeup just enhances your natural beauty." She only wore powder and lipstick and so did I until later in life. I agree. Who says mature women should go for nude lip colors? I say phooey on that. At a time when we're fighting looking washed out, bland lip colors do not help. Brighter colors (doesn't have to be fire engine red or screaming fuschia) can elevate a look quickly and easily!

I came to love make-up later in life. I grew up in the 70s and really embraced feminism. I thought, erroneously, that make-up was about conforming to some unrealistic feminine ideal. Later in life, I was talking with a friend who said she didn't see it that way at all--make-up for her was about creative expression. Boom! I was hooked. Still am.

My Mom had the maybeline brow and mascara too! I found a shimmer liquid eyeshadow in a beautiful champagne color and I love dabbing a bit on my finished eyeshadow. It adds such a sparkle and pizzazz to my eyes. Wearing glasses I think is hard to get a different eye look and this really helped!! Happy New Year Susan and Dezi. I just found your channel last night, glad I did!. I had my eyebrows tattooed shortly after I married my husband so I'll still look pretty after I wash my fave😀, when I was younger I never left the house until I felt pretty, and I haven't changed, I still work on my face until I'm satisfied!! But I don't use any blush, I do have bronzer to use on my forehead and may be little around the temples, I only have 1 very light serum type of liquid make up, and pinkish lipstick, I don't like too many colors on my face, I love your videos, glad I found you, see you soon.

I so look forward to your videos. They always brighten my week. And Desi always makes me smile with that toothy grin of his. I have two small terrier mixes that follow me all over the place. Saw Kim Novak on CBS Sunday Morning today. Thought of you and the movie “Picnic.” She is still lovely. And I discovered two new brands that I love. They are both Cruelty-Free. They are Clove and Hollow and Urban SkinRx. The SkinRx has helped me erase some of my scars from teenage acne. Bye for now!

When we were talking last week about how good your films are, one of the things I forgot to mention is that you make really great music choices. I only wear makeup on special occasions but I do thing it enhances what you have. The last time I wore it my nieces husband saw me scratched is head and said, “bloody hell you scrub up well,” made me laugh, made me feel good, and that is always a good thing. Have a great week Susan. RLP

Maybe this sounds awful weird, but when I’m having trouble and having to deal with anxiety or grief that’s overwhelming... so thankful it doesn’t happen as much anymore... but it did today and I am finding that the only thing that really helps me is getting home and settled and watching one of your videos... it’s so much comfort to me. I know if I can hear your voice and your positive kind heart everything will be ok. Calms me right down and the world makes sense again. Love you for being you! I can’t thank you enough! I was amazed when so many of the makeup products like the YSL, and Physicians Formula were the favorites or yours, I just discovered them ...and I am going to try many of the others you mentioned...always loved makeup from an early age, too..I would watch my Mom who was naturally beautiful, but when she put on her makeup for special events, I was fascinated, especially the bold lipstick which emphasized her smile...and yes, I am a few years older than you, but I have discovered a bolder lip looks good!!! ☺️💕💕

Love your videos Susan. I remember my first foundation and I used it into my forties! I first got it when i was sixteen. It was Cover Girl clean make-up in Creamy Natural. To this day when I smell it it takes me back to the good times. I used Yardley pink lipstick and I'm not sure what blush but it was pink. My mother used Estea Lauder blush and make up and I remember using peach blush like her for awhile. It would look so good. Luckily I have good skin. I now use It cosmetics and cover girl blush, Maybelline Mascara -the pink with green top is the best. I have tried them all and always go back to this Maybelline one. It Cosmetics Brow Power is my brow pencil. Simple and it works great. Defining the eye brow is so important and makes a huge difference. Thank you for talking about your tips, I wrote them down. I think you are so pretty and have such a sweet calming way about you. Love Desi or Dezi not sure. Kind of like Liza with a z huh? I always wonder if Desi was named after Lucy's husband?
