Convicted killer Alex Murdaugh faces sentencing on Tuesday after pleading guilty to dozens of financial crimes spanning several counties in a global plea deal reached two weeks before his first trial was set to begin.
Murdaugh is currently serving two life sentences for the murders of his wife and son, but is appealing his conviction in the case. The plea agreement with prosecutors would have him serve 27 years in prison, but must be approved by Judge Clifton Newman.

Only a psychopath can think a person can steal from people who trusted them, and then say: "I cared about you, and I still care about you." The truth is, Alex needs to win people over. He longs for the days when he could say he loved people, while his hand was in their pocket.. Or his hand was on the trigger of an assault rifle. He wants to believe he can still pull the wool over the eyes of others, but he's the only one left who falls for it.

I'm telling you it's very possible. My dad has a huge problem with opiates. He would go thru an entire prescription of oxy30s 90 per month in a few days. On top of various other opiates he would get plus benzos. It's very possible when people build a tolerance. I was shocked too by it because it did seem like alot, then I remembered my own experience and realized it's totally possible for that to be true

That is all he cares about now. Alec was on a phone call with his Sister in law asking her to put money on another inmate’s commissary (clearly breaking the law) so he can get more than he is allowed weekly. And if he is borrowing money from his brother and others shame on them. They are willing to help their brother pay attorney fees but not repay those he owes money to. Alex didn’t spend all that money and if he did I bet it is invested in land or something. I don’t understand why his attorneys support him, to me it makes them look bad. 3:18:45 That lawyer is exactly right! There is no way in hell Alex bought and consumed the amount of oxys he said. I know lots of people who became addicted to that opiate. 2 of whom are my daughters who passed away from an unintentional overdose. Another is my son in law, who also died of opioid overdose. Most of the friends I grew up with have also succumbed to their addiction. Lastly my ex-husband is addicted to that drug and takes it every day and has been doing so for 20 odd years. There by the grace of God go I. There is NO WAY Alec could have taken the amount of oxys he said he took nor spent that amount of money on it. He definitely has a nice sun of money (nest egg) tucked away for him and Buster. How many mg did he say he took of oxys per day and how much money did he say it cost him? Whatever it was it is absolute bullshit! Even though he said he took hundreds-thousands of mg a day that’s not correct cause he’d be dead! 1/80mg oxy might cost $10-$15 on the street. The most he could possibly take without overdosing is maybe 1200mg/day which would be at most a $300/day habit, probably much less if he’s buying in quantity. So I don’t know how he gets away with saying he spent all the millions of dollars that he stole from his clients plus his salary. Not buying it and if anyone else does, that’s just stupid! It is physically impossible! IMO he murdered his wife an son because they found his stash of pills (probably at dog kennel) and refused to give them back to him. That’s the only reason I can think of (in this particular situation) why he would murder his family. I say that because I have been around addicts my whole life and the only thing that would motivate them to kill is if they needed their drugs (oxy/opiate) and someone had them and was purposely withholding it from them. I believe that’s exactly the rage it took for Alex to murder his wife and son. Sorry, soo triggered and angry by this case!

Wow, I am getting really creeped out by him speaking. What he said to his victims after he took from them more money than anyone needed, and money that was theirs and they needed. Going down, ‘memory lane’, as he did, is disgusting. I do believe it is more about him thinking that they might think better of him…. Which is all about him.. and about how he wants people to think better of him. Total nonsense.. If he had a conscience that felt bad he would not spin his apology into a memory lane speech but instead admit that he is a disgusting person and deserves the worst of the maximum penalties/punishments. He cares about, “each and everyone of you”, so, so much that he stole umpteens amount of money from them so he can be big man on campus. Even him speaking about his pill use is disgusting because they played zero role in him being an unconscionable thief and murderer. He is going on as if he is giving his closing arguments in a case. Sick. Tears came to my eyes hearing the victim statements. His lying about “not” being at the kennels only to admit he was minutes before they were murdered, is 100% proof he killed his wife and son. If anyone believes he didn’t is not capable of rationale sense and common sense.

One thing for sure, and two thing for certain: *Banks are complicilty behind/involve in *EVERY SINGLE HIGH-PROFILE* money-making fraud, scheme or scandal that includes the requires exorbitant of money/millions in order to execute the fraud in a perpetual or revelving cycle. In other words, if the fraudster is using the bank in a so-called legitimate way, almost 99 percent of the time the vank is in on the scheme or at the cery least knows the scheme exist and is complicicit in perpetuatibg it!!!

I really loved how Eric Bland brought out that Poot & Jim had a made public statements (about the jury BS) & RIGHT after they brought that out, they attended Crime Con in Orlando & they spoke in sessions about this case! Then I believe it’s Jim that has the podcast, which I need to check out! But they are making so many accusations about the publicity although THEY are the ones publicly speaking on it! I’m NOT a fan of the defense attorneys. I was appalled when Poot pulled the gun out in the court case & pointed it at the prosecution. Everyone knows you NEVER point a gun at ANYONE loaded or not! Murdaugh has NEVER cried out for law enforcement to find the killer(s) of Paul & Maggie, so that is why I believe he is completely guilty of those crimes! He didn’t have a drug addiction, he was gambling all that stolen money away! He has a gambling addiction & is gambled on everything while in jail! Football games, cards…you name it! It’s all in his jail calls to Buster. And something happened between Alex & Maggie that changed their relationship when they moved to Hampton. Alex spoke to John Marvin’s wife Liz about this in their calls from jail. Alex & Liz have a VERY flirtatious relationship that really goes beyond a sister-in-law/brother-in-law relationship….its nauseating!

Its scary to me that our whole judicial system is made up of these lawyers, attorneys, and legal personnel who would want to even become this type of human being. This man, the judge, all the attorneys here, his partners, even the law personnel that participates in the custody part of jails, etc. The district attorneys, the prosecutor's, the defendant attorneys, etc etc. I call this whole system out, the corruption that goes with these professions, the winners, because there are always losers too. The fact that they all participate in a system that is corrupt, racist, and most of all ran by educated corruption. Our politicians are 80% attorney's, and we all know how corrupt that system is. This is right in second place to that, meaning the whole judicial system in place in this country. Its sad it even continues, year after year. And dont get me wrong, this guy is a piece of crap for sure, and deserves all he got, so congrats they got one right. BUT this case just gave me the ability to be interested enough, to see what a farce this system is. (Nothing to even do with this case except that he was a powerful attorney and so were his ancestors. There needs to be a complete overhaul of this judicial system in this country. And yes this is 1 man who deserves to be in jail, but my god I can only think of like how many people are in prison in South Carolina, who dont really deserve it, only to be there due to petty poverty crimes. So the rest of these people can exist, the attorneys the judge, etc etc. All about money folks, its sickening.

Having been in our courtrooms in NC I am forever struck by the lack of rules. Phones being used in the courtroom and not pen and paper by reporters. I say again, SC needs a HUGE overhaul in the way they handle settlements and they are signed off on, to the appointment of guardians and allowing unbonded individuals to be appointed to handle money. The bar association needs NEW sticker rules in their trust accounts and who manages them as well as more frequent audits.
