Setting appointments is simple AF getting them to show or answer the phone is whole different beast

I think its great that you show the calls where they hang up, so agents know even the best in the industry deal with the same obstacles on the phones. Nice job!

Yes I agree! I think it's wonderful that he shows both the good and bad calls. The thing is, I don't know why people even bother inquiring about insurance if they are just gonna blow off agents who call them. Why even fill out a quote page if you're not interested? If you put in your phone number or email, you should expect to be contacted.

These appointments are good, but there is an additional follow up question that I would believe needs to be asked to ensure the actual appointment is able to be closed. An additional question I would ask is, "besides yourself, is there anybody else that needs to hear and see the information when I arrive? If so, will they be there, too?"

Great content. I got my insurance license in 1989 under New York Life. Had zero experience before that. They have exceptional training classes and they prepare you intellectually with the knowledge but reality hits you straight in the face when you’re thrown out to the field. Knowledge is great but it damn sure doesn’t get appointments. 😂 The best advice I have is FORCE YOURSELF TO MAKE CALLS NO MATTER WHAT. If you embarrass yourself or get your feelings hurt take a breath and laugh it off. Insurance sales are definitely a humbling experience and it will only strengthen you. I don’t know of 1 agent that hasn’t struggled at some point in their carrier. Not 1. Here’s the kicker, I got out of the business in 2000 to go into my family’s restaurant business. Had a great time in the food industry until Covid hit. I recently got my insurance license again and started up 2 months ago. I find that it’s harder now than it was 30 years ago. Nobody answers the phone and have been called a bazillion times. It’s funny, even having prior training and experience I feel like a newbie all over again. Cody, your videos have really helped me press forward. I’m in the process of toughening up my skin to prepare for battle with leads. I know it’s a mind game and I just tell myself im going to win. Thanks again for helping. Joe

Hi. It’s been two years since this comments. How are you doing now? Did you start off in telesales in 2000 or door to door? I’m with Aflac after passing my prelicensing course and was kinda thrown into the field I feel on my first day. I’m a self starter and have been learning on KZbin a lot even before I joined them though, and I want to be in this business long term, coming from a long background in transportation, copywriting and voiceover.

One mind hack that I was able to implement was the perception of “more quotes = more sales”. By default, if you have the ability to get your client through the quoting process, naturally you will close more… even if you’re the worst closer in the world! Realizing it’s a numbers game is a big step in the right direction!

Great job Cody! A tip I learned from Grant Cardone is to ask them if they are talking on their cell phone right now. If they are say “Hey I’m gonna text you some information right now”. Then text over the exact same thing you had them right down on paper. Then say “Did you get that text?” The closing ratio statistically increases by 300% when you do this.

To convert leads into potential buyers: Qualify leads based on their needs and interests. Engage and build relationships through personalized communication. Understand their pain points and offer tailored solutions. Provide valuable content that showcases your expertise. Offer incentives or exclusive promotions to create urgency. Use social proof, such as testimonials, to build trust. Personalize your approach based on each lead's preferences. Follow up consistently without being pushy. Provide excellent customer service throughout the process. Track and analyze data to optimize your strategies.

So what exactly are you dropping off on these "appointments"? Are you sitting down with these folks and going over the info they request when you stop by that first time or are you just handing them something and heading out shortly thereafter and calling them again to book a sit? Because if you are sitting down with them the first time, it doesn't seem like they are aware of that so i'm just wondering how this works.

I agree. Adversity happens in any career, no matter what you do. Not every call you make is gonna become a client. Not every interview you go on is going to turn into a job offer. Or you may work with a company for 5-10 years and then end up getting fired. There is so much uncertainty in career and finance. That is why you must always have a backup plan and keep yourself on the go. Even when you are happy with a job, always keep your resume and LinkedIn up to date. NEVER stop networking!

How are you still able to sell insurance with Covid pandemic? Are agents doing it only from home and is it harder since you cant always meet f2f?
@CodyAskins
@CodyAskins 4 жыл бұрын
It depends on which state or country you're currently working from but many agents have switched to telesales.. It definitely can be harder if you're not used to doing telesales. I have a program I started specifically for agents struggling during the pandemic to learn all the ins-and-outs of selling over the phone called the Telesales Mastery Membership.. give my office a call at 833-402-4368 if you'd like to learn more about it!

What do you do when you get there and they ask you for the info you're dropping off, expecting something written?
@CodyAskins
@CodyAskins 5 жыл бұрын
Most often, they never remember that's all I'm there to do or go along with what it is I'm doing. It's VERY rare they ask me to just hand over the info. If they do, I sometimes have a brochure I can give them but I still try to get in the door any way I can.

I cold call people who expressed an interest in receiving more info about Medicare plans and quality them and send them to an agent. I'm a licensed agent as well. My problem is I had a stroke and my words don't come out as smoothly as I'd like them to. I've been yelled at by many people on the phone because I can't always get my words out because of nerves and anxiety on the phone. I'm about to quit. Any advice for me?

Cody you are a natural talent and I appreciate learning so much from you HOWEVER, in addition to just setting an appointment you MUST build rapport with the applicants. I noticed after you mention the color they chose, you rolled right into the business instead. This can create a lot of no shows. Your calls are a little too quick. Other than that, you are a rock star.

Sheek LIFE Insurance You have a valid point.. but actually, I personally admire Cody’s grit. He’s been around long enough to know not to waste time on the phone. Cold calling is an unnatural act and requires nerve & technique. Building rapport with a client is best served face to face when he knocks on the door where a smile goes a long way. Cheers

Terry Rees Thank you so much!! Cody is awesome. I met him at the conference last year and won a phone call from him a couple months back. Ive learned so much from him in the life insurance community. But I’ve personally been in sales for majority of my career. Building rapport is “immediately and on going” it doesn’t matter if you’re cold calling or meeting them in person. I promise you it works. Cheers to you too ❤️

The MUST is where you lose me. Do what works for you in general. If that works for you great.Don’t tell someone who clearly is successful what they MUST do.

I've been selling FE only for 21 years straight with 15 years of FE telesales experience. Cody does it just right setting appointments. I would add instead of saying "I'll swing by at 10" to instead say "I'll swing by between 10 and 10:30". Greg...252-292-3350

Hey Cody, a question. Why do you have to ask for reason if they won't be going to the said appointment?
@BrandonSmith-qx8jx
@BrandonSmith-qx8jx 4 жыл бұрын
He said why in the video. It's to jog their memory because people are forgetful, so by asking, he forces them to think hard about it for a few seconds. Basically, to avoid him wasting time and money by getting porched.
