What I like about all your vids--which are all supportive of your approach to the swing--is how you begin to feel the core taking command; especially in chips and pitches. I can clearly see how the pros love tight lies--a little grass,yes--but tight lies around the green; they can control that little movement and hit the bounce of the club on the ground pretty much effortlessly. There's talent involved, but your swing teaching is very helpful to those of us with limited skills. Thanks! TU!

I made a "pro" from an old clubheadcover - tennisball - rope and a stick. For me best experience was to feel my hips work when swinging - like stay in balance and swing my "pro" - and listen what rotating hips was doing to my swing.

Amazing! For years I’ve been told the release is in front of the ball. But after watching your videos, I know why this has never worked for. Very informative.

Release is constantly happening. You never want to control the “release” with your hands. The folding and unfolding of the arms and club is a function of symmetry in motion!

Dan I've been chasing after the repeatable golf swing for decades. Along my journey I have had many golf training aids. From the Whippy club, Wally's Tempo aid, and many more. After watching this video with your INSTRUCTIONS, and using the "PRO"; I believe I just might have found the secret for me to eventually learn how to improve and play FUN golf.

This "Pro" and concept of feeling the stretch is great. I recently realized the significance of the trigger finger (pointer finger on my right hand, im a right handed golfer) and how this ties into it. Feeling the stretch and flow of that one finger is crazy how much it helped with contact. It really improved my chipping/pitching/short iron game but I'm having trouble incorporating it into my fuller swings with longer clubs. This video/concept may address that. I'm exciting to try it out.

Hello Dan, I really like the way you are working. The connection between you and the student is really good. And I noticed that you are working with guts, mind and words. Plus the Pro thing which is right on spot. From Sweden

This is really the key of swing. It is the club which hits the ball, not the body. So the club is the one to be controlled, to be noted.

How do you get tension in the rope at the top of the swing without casting? It looked like he was casting the club to try to feel the tension in the club at the start of the downswing

Its a unique skill of being able time your change of your body rotation to allow the cylinder to extend naturally. You simply then teach your arms and hands to ride and match it which gives you the correct shape and unfolding of the swing! Try to watch some of my slo mo demonstrations of the pro in some of my recent videos!

So when swinging the club is this primarily a right handed swing?
@dogloverjb6873

what do you mean by stretch the club...seems like that is the feel of casting??? Unhiinging your wrists while you are rotating to the target?? So unwind the club from the top? Can you elaborate on this in a new video? this was great to watch and very helpful... thanks for posting live lessons.

This was shot a long time ago - I would likely explain it a bit differently these days. What we want is to discover how the transfer of angular momentum creates a natural extending. Your wrists actually unhinge because of the transfer of momentum from the arms to the club. It is something that you can learn with the PRO much easier than a golf club. I'll definitely make a new video on clarifying what makes the wrists hinge and unhinge!

That feeling of stretching the club early isn't that a casting move
