you nailed this...this is exactly what my pro wants me to do. He WANTS a deep turn. The bigger my turn, the better my forward swing and the farther and straighter the ball goes.

Happy New Year. When working with the Pro how long would you swing and how often would you incorporate this into your daily regimen. Also any thoughts on how set up your impact flag indoors during these winter months.

Thanks for purchasing and Happy New Year! Be sure to join our CoachNow Group (link is in email you received after purchase). I have tons of content/training/philosophy videos in there for PRO users. You should certainly swing your PRO every day for at least 5 minutes to keep improving the skill. I would always swing it first before any round of golf or practice session to continue to remind yourself that the swing is the free transfer of momentum, not something that requires extra force!

Hi! Is it correct that when we mention swinging with our hands on the backswing, it means lifting the club over the right shoulder (for right-handed golfers)? Great channel, by the way!
@danmartingolf7 ай бұрын
Thx! I’d consider swinging with your hands the act of manipulating the club head through the rigidity of the shaft. I’d consider lifting your arms to be what you are referring to. But ideally we use a transfer of momentum with as little lift as possible to get the club slung back behind us in an optimal area to enhance slinging the club to strike the ball.

Leaving the club less than loaded at the top is a nugget for me. I can see how in the downswing it might become more loaded, creating more lag, at the right time. Can you discuss this soon? It may be a bad idea, as mine often are!
@danmartingolf3 жыл бұрын
Will do! "Underloading" is great as long as the player has the feel of allowing the momentum of the forward swing to "lag" the wrists as the arms pick up speed.

This is just my personal impression, but after having swung a similar tool to the Pro, I realized that when you let the wrist "collapse" at the top of the backswing (I assume that's what you mean by loading, more lag), it takes more precious time at the start of the downswing to get the momentum of the club to "fall in line" with the club shaft. By not letting it collapse, it's like it's ready to go the second you start pulling the handle along the shaft's axis. But really you've got to have tried swinging something like the pro beforehand, so that you understand what it means to use the momentum of the club head's weight. Is that a fair understanding Dan?

A question on hip turn.. I've started swinging a tool similar to the Pro and it's like a revelation. I had no idea you could get so much club head speed from so early in the down swing. :) But when you do that, and when you start "coasting" down to impact, it's easy for the hips to stop rotating because I just "coast". I suppose I still want to keep rotating, staying just ahead of the club, to prevent the club from catching up to my midline and flip early, but also to add as much speed as I can? Can you say anything about combining this early force (pull arrow out of the quiver) and hip rotation?

Yes - think of the pelvis as something that needs to keep moving (riding) to clear space for the swinging of the arms, then the club. As you improve your swing skill, training the pelvis to support properly is essential for maximizing club head speed and face control. I find more success in teaching people how to master the early phases of getting the swing going first, then working on the pelvis second. But ultimately the two are interdependent on creating your best swing.

From stephane quebec canada, really good way to learn. One question please , from 1 to 10 ,how tight is your grip during the swing? Thanks Dani ve just ordered the pro... great tool....
@danmartingolf3 жыл бұрын
Stephane, Thanks for the Order! It's on the way! As for your question, I would say it's between 3 and 4 on virtually all shots. The real key is that your wrists and shoulders need to have mobility. If you contract the muscles of the chest/upper arms/forearms too much, you will interfere with the transfer of momentum through the body to the club.
@bizzthewizard8863 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the answer!,, another good one, what do you think about hovering the club to start the back swing? By the way sorry mistakes french canadian from quebec.... lollll
@bizzthewizard8863 жыл бұрын
That means douwnswing starts whit left knee , pelvis then abs am i right and keep looking 3feet behind the ball and let it flow.....

So Kyle Berkshire, Bryson DeChambeau & all the current bombers have incorporated the feeling of the club pulling/extending away from them throughout their swing? This is possible even at the incredible swing speeds they possess?
@danmartingolf3 жыл бұрын
All of these guys are transferring momentum - it is the cornerstone of why they hit it so far. They actually couldn't reach the swing speeds they possess without the maximizing the transfer of angular momentum. Specifically with DeChambeau and Berkshire, the mass and size of each body segment that precedes the club picking up their momentum (thorax and arms) + plus their incredible motor skill + plus their ability to transition quickly all play a significant role in the amazing swing speeds they create. thanks!
