Been playing the game for a couple decades now and these types of videos (most simple) are the hidden gems. It’s like 1 concept can put you in all the correct positions you need without thought. Unreal. You see a lot of LPGA players doing this with a towel. Great video man 🤙🏼

Dan, an overhead view of you swinging the Pro would be good too!

It basically means you have to pull in the length direction of the grip/club in stead of putting side force at the grip/club

Not quite - but a good start in learning! If the inertia created by our bodies rotation is allowed to flow, the extending radius will move every part of your arms and your club outward simultaneously. (See my video illusion of the golf swing). If the Grip & Rope are in alignment for the entire forward swing, then you know you are allowing inertia to drive the swing. The PRO is the only device that can show you if that is happening because in combines a rigid grip and a weight with an essentially "massless" rope. The weight of the pro will lag behind the grip if you are adding an unnecessary external torque to the swing. This kills free speed and really complicates the predictability of the swing arc. Thanks!

Is the feeling you are going for at 10:42 something you want to feel in pitches and chips

What does swinging around the wrist joints mean?
@danmartingolf Жыл бұрын
Brian, I would focus on more recent videos as I've changed my terminology over the years to be more simple and accurate. But in this video, I would currently define it as allowing the inertia from rotation to extend the club freely with no resistance or assistance from the wrists. Essentially, the motion unfolds the "swing" for you. Thanks!

I hope this works for me. In two days I have discovered the impact of rotation from an anchored position on the club. I found the swing plane is further away from me. If I rotate the swing extends and if the ball is too close I have to come over the top to hit the ball. To keep the rope straight in the takeaway it has to be on the target line. However, I do think recording a video will help me see the bends in the rope that I may not see. I am trying to watch the pro through the entire swing but so much is happening. Transferring the learning to a real golf club is the test. I am going to try using the movement with my lag shot.

@@harleybluesbiker you have some good observations there! I wouldn’t worry about trying to transfer the PRO to the club until you have done mastery of it! Post a vid on our CoachNow group and I’ll give you some feedback! Thx!
