It's hard work when the weather is like that,reminds me of when I'm fishing Rudyard lake, you did well to stick at it

Good result in the end John, love challenging natural waters but Southfield is so unpredictable you never know what will happen. Great video though especially in the conditions.

Thanks Mike 👍 I kind of knew it would be hard but it was harder than anyone thought - that said I've known matches where more blank than catch on there so it's literally down to bingo for the prizes!

All i can say jon is a massive. Well done mate. We'll fished pal. Weather looked horrible. Nice one mate for sticking out and doing so we'll. 3 skimmers might not sound alot. When everyone is blanking. It's massage. Play for and got Jon. Look forward to the next upload tight lines Sir Daniel 👍
@HOOKEDFishingChannel Жыл бұрын
Thanks Daniel, it's all relative as we know. The difference between me and Will was a big one ate his bait. We can only catch what's willing to bite in front of you.
@heyitsme6083 Жыл бұрын
@HOOKEDFishingChannel definitely but you've got to fish we'll enough to catch the few fish that are Jon. So nice one 👍

well done for sticking that out... ive fished many a match like that.. i lose the will to live and want to go home try next week like... maybee they should just draw raffle tickets for the result... and spend day in a nice warm pub in the WARM..... .... but nice one...

It's bream bingo my friend - I don't think there's any real secret to it other than cast as accurately close to the spot you pick as you can.

Fantastic result in the face of adversity mate 👏🏻 You’d have expected the odd big perch to show on the worm as they’re usually not that bothered about a temperature dip. Do they get pike coming into the res from the Aire & Calder? Top film as always. Keep ‘em coming 👊🏻
@HOOKEDFishingChannel Жыл бұрын
Thanks Michael. I've never known a pike attack in the res, that's not to say there aren't any. The only perch I saw that day was a dead one. Such a strange moody place, weights from today's match were over 40lb, that said only 1 weight over 20lb from the pegs we fished.

Well done on 2nd mate, just a shame about it fishing so poor, mainly due to those bad bream conditions!

It was a shocker, never know how that place is going to react 🤷♀️ Cheers pAL

Slowly working through your vids, really good stuff. I wanted to ask - have you ever fished Semerwater up in the Dales? Just going off all the natural venues you fish, thought that’d be right up your street albeit a bit of a drive. Maybe you have already been, I used to try to go up there once a season after the bream and roach, good pike venue as well. Stunning spot. Cheers.

I haven't fished that but have fished Esthwaite. It's a long drive for the day though and to be honest I don't get chance to pleasure fish much at the moment, it's all matches. If things work out, maybe I'll get chance to retire in the next couple of years, then there'll be no stopping me.
@highlandfishingdiary881811 ай бұрын
@@HOOKEDFishingChannelhope the match fishing is going well, good luck on the retirement plan, Semerwater isn’t going anywhere so maybe you’ll get a go to fish it one day. I’ve no idea how it fishes these days as it was early noughties when I was going , but feeder approach used to throw up some big weights, tbh it’s just a stunning spot as well 👍

It's been said before but that place needs a rest. I was taking to some lads the other day who were fishing the canal on the way up to the reservoir. who said it was really hard going on the reservoir but the canal was fishing really well with some good bags of roach and skimmers.
@HOOKEDFishingChannel Жыл бұрын
Absolutely, it had been hammered again, the road is a right state now as well. Bad timing after the festival but we can't change the weather.
