This is a big stretch by the prosecution. Actor standing in front of a camera is handed a prop /firearm and is expected to immediately check the gun and distinguish between dummy rounds and real rounds. This doesn’t belong in a criminal court. The armorer was already convicted. The prosecutors love the publicity. Hopefully the jury comes back with a quick not guilty.

He was also a Producer. His duty of care goes beyond that of an actor. So ultimately he actually is responsible. He is also responsible for the hiring of the inexperienced armourer who has been convicted. The way he carries on during pretty much every movie he's been on ultimately leading him to be the B grade actor he is today... well...? We all saw him back peddle and lie about pulling that trigger He pulled the trigger. He did. There's no getting away from that.

It’s called narcissism, she was obsessed with gaining as much notoriety from the misfortune of a famous actor no matter who else gets hurt in the process. Forget justice, winning at all costs including deliberately withholding evidence clearly showing that there were at least two other people other than Gutierrez-Reed who were responsible for live rounds being anywhere near that set let alone being in the gun. @@nicenessispriceless2681 I’ve only just seen the video of “Day 1”. The defence lawyer pretty much sums up the whole thing which is confirmed with the video…I assume filmed by the ultimate victim. It is clear from the defence’s opening statement that Baldwin is totally innocent in this. When we hear the evidence that was hidden by the prosecution, we see clearly that Baldwin is the last person who should be on trial. There are at least two others plus the prosecution for deliberately withholding evidence.

What a waste of time. There were to be no live rounds on set - THE most important industry standard. The armorer allowed live rounds on set. The armorer allowed actors to continue to hold guns between takes, which is also against rules. The armorer failed in many, many areas. She loaded the gun with a live round and many other live rounds were found in her possession - on set. The armorer cleared the gun as safe. The assistant director THEN also cleared the gun as safe and not able to harm anyone. Alec Baldwin did what every other actor does in any other film that has guns as part of a scene. He absolutely expected the gun to be safe and incapable of harming anyone. There was no foreseeable expectation that the gun could harm anyone. Alec Baldwin committed no crime.

Just so you know. With a revolver, if you pull the hammer(not the trigger) back almost all the way but not untill it quite latches and then you either release it suddenly or it slips out of your finger before it reaches full cock, the gun may fire. This may be what happened. However even with blanks, when they are fired, unless the barrel is plugged, which for a movie would show, there will be some discharge of material from the barrel, probably not enough to kill but enough to say, put an eye out or leave a skin burn. That's why you NEVER point a gun at someone you don't intend to injure. That is Baldwin's error. John Wayne or Roy Rogers would have known this. Baldwin maybe not!

That's why director, producer, actor, and citizens are all told to never point even an "unloaded" gun at others unless they are threatening your life. PERIOD. What a shame key stone cops at work. No excuse for all of their incompetence. I was in our police force for 23 years myself here in Wisconsin. A small eastern city out of Milwaukee. I went to UWM for standard police classes then transferred to OC MATC for my associate's degree. After 4 years in the Marines 1987-1991. 1992-1994. I graduated. I got hired on our city dept. A year.later. I can't believe more units didn't respond to a shooting call. This poor deputy was by him self. Over 150 people there including the shooter. Accident or not. You secure the scene assist the wounded and ceiling off the inside of the structure then outside for 50 yards around the perimeter. Then secure the weapons involved. call detectives. I interviewed witnesses being a supervisor. And if we caught the suspect secure him in cuffs and search him put in the locked unit. Then read him his rights. I understand it's a movie set, 30 min for any town. The LT. Should have called for Assistance more deputies or State patrol for help! Never put a suspect in your vehicle with the murder weapon. Hanna should have been escorted to the deputy vehicle. Alec the shooter should have been escorted to the Lt's vehicle. The weapons and bullets put in an evidence bag and placed in the trunk. I would have secured the gun belts with the rounds in them and put them in the trunk as well.

It is a movie set, where there can be anything used as a prop… I do believe that someone was playing a disgusting game of roulette and Alec was somewhat set up but it is still early to to say. I have not watched previous trial but I plan on it. I just do not find him liable, not responsible and he was obviously distraught. I also think his attorneys are top notch and very professional. @@ronaldschutt2877 Ronald, No offense but you're letting your politics cloud your logic.Keep an open mind as I explain.... This has nothing to do with US gun culture. Movie sets the world-over use firearms and the reason Alec Baldwin should and does know the difference between blank, dummy, and real live rounds is because he has been making films with guns for 44 years. In fact, during Baldwin's police interview he made a point to state that he knew how to tell the difference between various cartridge types. Here's some relevant information for you. In this case the gun was loaded with dummy rounds (and a live round). Why I have no idea as it was just a rehearsal and there was zero need for the camera to actually show rounds in the firearm. So no need for rounds at all. Regardless, dummy rounds are very easy to identify. One, they have a BB (metal ball) inside them so that when you shake them they rattle. Two, these particular dummy rounds had holes in the primers proving they won't and can't fire. So yes Baldwin could have easily confirmed that the gun did not have live rounds in it. What's more there are a dozen ways he personally could have avoided his tragedy. Just a few are to keep the gun pointed in a safe direction. Just off to the side of the camera. Or turn the camera on, get it in focus, and them move everyone out of the way before pointing the gun and pulling the trigger. Or, and this is my favorite, use a NON FUNCTIONING GUN. Not a real gun. Cheers from America.

As Baldwins defence said right at the start, all the evidence showed that EVERYONE on that set were astonished not only that a “cold gun” had gone off but that there was ANY live ammunition on the set, let alone in the gun but; she attempted ridiculously to say that Baldwin must be guilty of murder because, he isn’t “talking about” what just happened…! Add this to the evidence she deliberately failed to disclose to the defence, this case should have never gone to court. It is obvious that she was determined to get her “15 HOURS…” of fame. Being a gunsmith in Australia i can tell you that you can get a accidental discharge what happens is when you cock the gun the sear doesnt make proper contact but contacts enough to hold but then it slips and the gun discharges most times you can try to replicate this to make it do it again without success especially if someone has modified the trigger by filing it in order to give it a hair trigger i have seen guns drop the hammer on a few occasions i saw one on my work bench do it when nobody was near it of coarse it was unloaded on inspection i found a rough spot on the sear that would have caused it to only semi cock with just enough to hold the hammer back then it slipped causing the hammer to drop this may explain the lines they saw on the gun in question this case is all bullshit whats happened to the world since 2020 so many stupid people now days

The gun in question might have been perfect when it left that factory but no one knows what ill treatment or modification was made or attempted during the subsequent 7 years. I trust the FBI expert opinion. Bottom line a rehearsal gun properly emptied and declared cold no one would be dead or injured. So with involuntary manslaughter they must prove the defendant was negligent, or reckless, in a fatal accident, as if the defendant had a duty and failed to perform that duty, or was acting dangerously, but it was unintentional. So like if a person’s child gets hurt at daycare the parents would not be charged with negligence, because the parents had nothing to do with what happened to the child at the daycare.

Is the prosecutor trying to imply that everyone on set was sober, I do not believe that for one second. 5:56:25 The system never wants to blame anything on liquor or drugs, they conceal it. Keep the public addicted, & using, & buying, no public boycotting and losing business. I doubt anyone on set was sober or very few. “Why are we seeing that language.” 5:56:49 As if it is so preposterous and unusual to think a shooting involved substances, how dare we even approach the subject? They also do not want anyone’s image tarnished. They want the public to believe everyone on set was sober and nobody was being irresponsible and under the influence. Weird suspicious & shady trial.

“Prescriptions” are also drugs. Anyone on pills is not sober, I would bet there was drinking, who knows what else, it is the movie industry.

“No actor in history has ever intercepted a live bullet from a prop gun” 2:27:22 how could the defense possibly know that? There are almost countless movies, nobody knows about every single movie ever made in history.

It's a bad look to pretend writing on a notepad for the entire state opening then suddenly finish when it's your own guy. Jury hates that kind of thing.

Crazy how the police are barked at, and treated as if they did something wrong. As if everything was caused by the police.

You clearly don’t understand gun laws … YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE TO POINT A REAL GUN LOADED OR NOT AT ANYONE AND PULL THE TRIGGER. Unless you intend to lawfully shoot someone. If you do … then you are guilty of manslaughter. Accidents happen where there COULD be a life round in it … that’s why it’s BASIC gun safety. You obviously don’t have a gun licence … if you do … hand it in!

She's in jail. 18 months...not long enough. Should be at least 18 years. For both her and Baldwin. He's guilty. Rule is is that he's suppose to check the gun also...and NEVER point a gun at anyone. He waved that gun around and pointed it at people continuously. GUILTY! Baldwin is a narcissistic egomaniac and a bold face liar. Always has been. Dude looks stoned AF

No matter what he is NOT quilty. There is gun safety persons and their ONLY task is to make sure that everything goes safely, they did the mistake and loaded live ammo on the gun, not Alec. End of story

I would love to know what the industry standard is. If no other actors check their guns then he has no obligation to. However hannah was grossly underqualified, overworked, and was doing coke/weed after work and whoever hired her has some guilt but not in the eyes of the law unfortunately..
