Update: I ended up leaving my hunt for Chimchar behind after 2’750. I hunted it for four months and a few weeks so I will probably reclaim it through the Masuda method later on. I’ve started my journey and now just going through it, hoping to beat the champion soon. I’ve gotten 2 badges already and just focusing on trying to complete the pokedex on legends Arceus. Getting close to catching every Pokémon now. I definitely want that Arceus to shiny hunt for in SP. I’m going to attempt Palkia for this next hunt, so here’s hoping it doesn’t take me another 4 months. 😂

I'm using ultra moon for my first shiny starter and I did resets for a whole three weeks but nothing I don't count my resets that makes it feel more tiresome but watching these kinda videos makes me more determined to keep it going. I took a break from the hunt for two months I got busy but I'm getting back to it tonight. And I'm hopping for the best

Does you game crash at random times when soft resetting for these starters? Like, an error occurs between the “press A to start” screen and the actual game only it crashes before you can start playing. This keeps happening to me and I was wondering if it means it was going to be a shiny. So my question(s) are: 1)did this happen to you? And, 1.1)did you eventually get the shiny if it did 2) and if if didn’t happen to you, does this mean my Pokémon was going to be a shiny. I’ve been shiny hunting piplup for over a week now and I’ve had 3-4 random crashes. Random like getting shiny random. Please tell me you have an answer for this. I’ve been asking and looking everywhere about this

Yes! It happened on both of my games but more times on Brilliant Diamond. That being said, both games have since produced several shinies so there's nothing to be concerned about as far as that goes.

@@ThaDocta0623 Lemme just say that the crashes are not occurring because the starter will be shiny, this is a weirdly common misconception, this could never be the case because the starter being shiny is not decided when you open the game, it's decided when you pick the starter.

I’ve been resetting since launch. I’m still waiting. Honestly, at this point I resent this game. I wanted to start with a shiny, ya know, “Shining Pearl” or whatever. Thought it would be fun way to start the nostalgia.
