Liverpool crowd loses it at killer one-liners. Gary Delaney doing some rude jokes @ Hot Water Comedy

The TV friendly material from my first and second tours had already been flogged to death on multiple programmes, so this set had to include 23 jokes from the tour I'd just written and launched. In an ideal world you tour the material first, then do it on the telly, then recycle it on social media, youtube etc. For the first three months it didn''t matter as the programme hadn't been broadcast yet, but as soon as it went to air I had to cut those jokes and replace them with new ones.It soon became apparent that not many people watched the Xmas special, plus it didn't go instantly viral on line like my first Apollo appearance (usually called 'nine minutes of one liners'). On tour shows for my second tour I'd started doing a bit of warm before bringing on my support acts as they were mates 'the warm up for the warm up'. So after a while I used these jokes again as part of that warm up patter, plus a few general intro jokes and whatever new bits I was working on that week. This clip is from that warm up at one of the Hot Water Comedy shows in Liverpool, recorded about mid way through the tour in 2019.
My fourth tour 'Gary In Punderland' starts this Summer (to allow time for vaccine rollout) and will continue throughout 2022 and, if it sells like the last tour, probably into 2023. Currently on sale dates are available to see at www.garydelaney.com and more will be added soon. Most of my regular venues are still out of action due to Covid hence the great many missing towns and cities. Don't worry, I've not forgotten you! As we return to normal these towns will hopefully all be added as will more dates in the places that sold out too fast for people to get tickets. Whenever new tickets go on sale I'll let everyone on my mailing list know. You can also sign up for alerts for your area on my website.

It ruins it if the comedian thinks the joke is funnier than it is. But Gary Delaney uses it to engage with the audience along with the bits where he briefly deconstructs the jokes as he goes a long.

If it says "Join waiting list" that means it's not really sold out as the venue held back tickets because of social distancing.
