When I tell you my Wednesdays are basically built around your drops, I mean it. It's a great pick me up in the middle of the work week, and a balm for the curious soul. Additionally, these transmissions you put out on the weekly are not merely interesting and stirring, they're deeply important and this is an important project you have here, Michael. Third Eye Drops is you being put to the just right use at the just right time, to borrow a quote from a previous installment with Godsey. This one looks like a very deep dive tonight. Looking forward to this one (as usual)!

Dance is my new art form. I'd never be caught dead dancing in public before. Then I took some DMT that I dedicated to Bacchus.. & now I'm a full blown dancer. Almost feels like ballet, but the dance is not coming from me. It is amazing. Feels like I got keep a souvenir from the psychedelic plane. Literally is changing the way I live my whole life, & I feel so validated.

@@lvxleather Been a few weeks now, & it hasn't stopped. Feels like I have a muse living within me, almost. & it has a personality & preferences. I don't mind at all!! Really likes to dance ancient hymns (The Orphic Hymns, as performed by Queenie, are the most popular)-although that's usually modernized (mostly translated) versions of said hymns-yet I can often feel the power of whatever deity being invoked, in a way that is simply incredible. This is the most incredible gift I could ever received. Magic is so real.

This episode felt especially special to me. Sadness pricked my heart when I heared you say you felt like you never knew where you belonged and fervently search for something transcendent. I always have felt this way as well. This shared feeling we all have in this community makes the extensial dread and the unknowable more bearable. I am excited to join your patreon and get a little more connected with everyone!

Amazing conversation. Two of my most favourite podcasters getting together. This is pure beauty for me. Thank you so much! On Kingsley's distaste for Plato: As far as I understand it, Kingsley just thinks that Plato is not original and just misappropriating. He says (and tries to prove in some of his works) that most of what makes Plato interesting, all of the wonderful mythic ideas of the Timaeus, the Phaedrus etc. were already well known before him in Orphic and Pythagorean circles and by earlier philosophers like Parmenides and Empedocles. But Plato, in Kingsley's theory, appropriated it all and then tried to squeeze it into some logical and rationalist kind of discourse and that actually distorted these ideas to an extent. Eventually, Kingsley actually does like a lot of what is called Platonism (he has mentioned, for example, that Porphyry had a big influence on him choosing vegetarianism). But he thinks that most of that tradition is actually much older than Plato and it existed in a much more pure form before Plato and he blames Plato for having been the one who took the first step in distorting it, a process that continued throughout history until European modernity.

@@THIRDEYEDROPS My pleasure. I think, if I remember correctly, it is in his "Reality" where he expresses that point most clearly. A tome almost as weighty as Catafalque but also as intriguing.

My understanding of the Demeter/ Persephone myth, or at least one possible explanation beyond etiological cause of the "seasons" is that in these patriarchal societies, a girl of 13/14 years of age, would be married off, where she would join her husband's family; therefore, if not a nearby family, the mother may never see her daughter again! Quite a deep psychological event!

Hey, I'm new to your channel, like the conversation but how can we connect the individual to all this to interconnect and interact with the universe? How can we try to understand something else if we are unwilling to understand ourselves?

Maybe resonances & vibrations effect us, but I still say, a primordial set of events, got humanity out of the trees and motivated them almost obssessively; and it was STORY, with language (Hermes, Mercury) that weaves it together... And the best story, wins! ;) SYMBOLS OF AN ALIEN SKY, documentary on YT, by The Thunderbolts Project channel, where a group of interdisciplinary folks, are noting some very interesting things!

You brought up politics, lol, surely something that darkens our "psyche", but the first Democracy in history, creators of it, in fact, also created something else, dramatic THEATRE... Talk about "catharsis", as Aristotle analyzed in his "Poetics", which to ancients only poetry could "speak", of unknown things, to be analyzed (Logos) as Plato would say, against the other 2 concepts, Ethos (ethics & morals) and most especially, PATHOS (the emotions, and Chaos). And the rituals of Theatre (ruled by the god in charge of these things, DIONYSUS ) brought to the fore, some great discussions, open-ended, in the literature of DRAMA. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fHLOfYeNhrqVfZosi=oRPC3Ruhdf6DrrYi THE GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH, yt If these guys couldn't figure it out, what chance have we, lol? And politicized! But you'll see tRump, you'll "see" it all, human nature never changes. (But at least we've got the Questions! (You brought it up, lol)
