My son had lived and worked for his business over there for more than a year and stayed at the Ibn Battuta Gate apartments. It was amazing and we visited every 2 months and had a great time. That’s how we know alot about Dubai. I hope you had a wonderful time in Dubai :D

You should visit Dubai in the winter between November& March if you want walk around the city and attend the outside activities or going to the desert for more fun activities, during the summer you cannot go outside often because of the weather that why everyone stays inside until the sunset.

Yes a great deal considering the views and how close you are to the stores etc. I love Dubai. Don’t let the cost of living scare you. My cousins live in Dubai and they love their life there. They do many family friendly things that are low budget and, once in a while they do splurge on something or and experience that is considered expensive. Great flat! I like how it’s well situated and opens up to sweeping and great vistas.

As an architecture student I can say that Dubai is so haphazardly designed.. the city developed into what it is in just 40 years and they only cared about one thing luxury.. they derived nothing from the natural landscape or landform.. there is no relationship between two buildings.. u enter a building complex and you are completely isolated from the exterior environment around you.. the tall sky scrappers are just thrown around the main road... Next to each other...

Hi Mark, I completely agree of what you've said. I stayed there for 2yrs in one of the Tower it's called Sadaf 5. I really loved the placed. They have everything, you don't have to travel to do shopping, watch movies, exercise etc., I missed the Beach a lot, so clean and also the swimming pools and I also missed the parade of luxuriuos cars during Thursaday and Friday night:)

That is how our apt in Saudi Arabia was set up with 3 bedroom living room 2 bathroom and we had a nice balcony and patio was on the roof. we did not pay rent has it was taken care of by the Saudi government. I really enjoy Saudi Arabia. Hope you enjoy Dubai.

Q Well Dubai is great if you are a visitor as it’s a very clean, safe country with very nice and tall buildings. I guess if any western country thinks of making buildings or infrastructure like Dubai it’s just not possible because in Dubai labour is cheap. Also the biggest disadvantage is that they never give you the citizenship. So there is no point in serving and working for a country who does not give you citizenship. Well I am one of those people who visit Dubai every year for my vacations and no doubt I love Dubai but I will never vote to live over there permanently.

These developments are very similar to the ones in Hong Kong. A developer will build a dozen massive skyrise residential buildings, and then have schools, grocery stores, and all your amenities within the development on the first floors, or sometimes in massive undreground malls that connect to the subways. You could literally live there your entire life without having to walk more than a few hundred meters.

Dubai is hit or miss. A lot of people calling out how empty it is - you are right. A lot of these new apartment and condo areas are basically cities in themselves and if you want to go anywhere you *need* a car or transportation. Dubai is not a friendly city for just walking around *unless* you go down to where the old port part of the city is. At the older part of the city it becomes a lot more friendly for walking around, and it feels more organic as far as cities go. If you ever visit you need to check out the older part of the city and some of the ancient markets besides the giant lonely skyscrapers.

Apartments in UAE in general are so spacious and biiiiig that's the best thing about them, wherever you go you'll always have nice view (as far as i know, i only lived in abu dhabi and went to dubai a few times) but in terms of storage i don't think there's enough storage. I really like UAE but it's a little expensive to live in there haha
