You should mention that the winters are longer than most cities. Our winters (snow) can last from late October to April. Also the fact we are known as 'Festival City' . Summer events like the Fringe, The Works art festival, Folk Fest, Cariwest, Taste of Edmonton, Heritage Days, and other fun summertime events.

when walking in the river valley be sure to watch over your shoulder as the homeless will be in the river valley and yes they can be violent. The best thing about Edmonton, is in Leduc, AB, which these channels like to call Edmonton, this is where the airport is, and it is the best thing about Edmonton cause there are international departures and you can forget you live in Edmonton for a while. People only live in Edmonton to work, this is NOT a retirement town.

I moved in in last July from Algeria North Africa as a new immigrant and what I found out is that it’s pretty quiet for a city which can be a con. It’s not that drivable although I need a car and although there are things to do u Still feel like your in town not in a city. You don’t experience the Same feeling as in Toronto or Vancouver. Other than that I love it it’s an amazing city very welcoming and friendly.

Congratulations on your move! Yes it is definitely a small city when compared to some of the larger cities in Canada, and around the world! Glad you are enjoying it, and thanks for the watch!

It's funny how all these videos about moving to Edmonton, say traffic is a con. Compared to literally every other city out there. The traffic is not even close. We don't have big road ways through the city but you can still get to one end of the city from the other extremely easy. Go to Vancouver, Toronto, New York ect. If you want to see what traffic is like. Come back here and drive and you will never complain about traffic again.

Do you think moving to beaumont you'll be able to go to downtown edmonton easily?

You definitely need a car. I’m not sure easy is a word we use for transport here lol but it’s at least 30-40 min drive not counting finding parking.

here's a con that is often not mentioned, you can't grow much of a vegetable garden or plant any real fruit trees in edmonton or alberta for that matter which really sucks.
@liveinedmonton
@liveinedmonton 2 жыл бұрын
There is definitely an opportunity to grow gardens! But you have to make sure you are choosing produce for the zone. You would struggle growing a watermelon, but there are many successful fruits and vegetables grown here!

every single thing you mention there is to do costs BIG money. NOTHING in Alberta is cheap. If you are going to follow this travel advice I suggest you bring a LOT of money. We have been to all of these festivals, once, simply cant afford to spend the outrages amounts of money they charge at these events. and we do well and dont have kids to spend money on and we still think 5 times and always say no to the cost of any of these events

Too many homeless people in Edmonton, Downtown is the worst part of the city, horrible public transportation, too cold for very long time. Other than that everything is ok.
