I have been doing my research on Costa Rica since April 2020 after we got back from a 10 day exploration trip. At first I was going to move to Playas del Coco, Guanacaste. After doing research, I'm moving to Dominicalito in March 2025. I am looking forward to living in the southern zone. Great video! Pura Vida

I’m in Costa Rica now and my 1st stop was to check out a lot in Tambor beach in the Nicoya area you were in. After I went to San Isidro where I really like that area and as of now I’m in Atenas ,but ret urning to to the south h for the reasons you mentioned.

Great videos, i live in Sabalito near San Vito. It's the best place I've ever lived at.

Random question… are there any parts of Costa Rica with red brown dirt? I use to live on Kauai and I miss so much about that island, one thing is the dirt there and how it felt walking barefoot. I can’t move back there because of how insanely expensive it is these days, so I’m seriously looking into Costa Rica. The south def sounds like more my vibe. Thanks for your video.

Yes you can find a lot of it here

there are areas in the north same as you describe just need get out of tourist areas. I lived in Jaco for 12 years and just recently move to Poas. I am 20 minute to the airport and the city Alajuela where there are both local and american influenced stores. The mountain pueblo where I live is half the cost of living as was Jaco. It is cooler so I do not need air conditioning to be comfortable. It's not that the southern area is bettor or worse. I wouldn't want to live in the south where is rains more. It rains enough here.

We are traveling to Costa Rica in November. We are staying in Savegre de Aquirre. Looking for real estate . I have visited before. All in the north. I want to explore the southern region and possibly purchase a home

Rains vary a lot by microclimate so be careful in choosing the right area

Hi Julie, it was my first time in CR this Sept. I visited Nicoya Peninsula, especially loved Playa Hermosa- Santa Teresa and Nosara. I noticed, there're a lot of construction going on for permanent homes in both areas. I am planning to visit the southern part next Sept. like Ojochal, Dominical and Uvita. How much more rain there's in the southern parts? also, do Ojochal, Dominical turn brown in the high season or always green? Thanks
@libertyrose283 ай бұрын
The rain depends entirely on the area you are in. It’s all microclimates. More rain in the mountains. There is less rain where I am now (which I won’t specify) than when I was in Santa Teresa 🤷♀️

Also no it stays green!!

hi Julie, did you visit Montezuma and Playa Hermosa -ST, did you like it? any negative observation? is south zone the better choice in your opinion to live? thanks
@libertyrose283 ай бұрын
Yes I like Montezuma a lot but for still more for vacation. Playa Hermosa is construction everywhere. So noisy. The south is better to root down in my opinion.

@@libertyrose28 what are your thoughts on Ojochal? I like the sheer natural beauty and ocean near by.. It's on my list to visit next year for sure

Is crime rate less in the south? I'm scared from visiting CR after reading the horror stories.
@libertyrose2829 күн бұрын
I believe so but don’t have the stats on that. I feel like there are less drugs here so less crime. I don’t hear too many horror stories other than break-ins here and there.
@Wolf2024-m3f29 күн бұрын
@libertyrose28 I hear from robberies with guns.
