As a lifelong Tulsan I hope more people move to the area. I love seeing how Tulsa is becoming more diverse. We need more people to come with new ideas and skills to help diversify our economy and workforce. The crime is overblown especially when talking about certain areas of Tulsa like downtown and north. Another positive would be all of the festivals and parades we have in Tulsa. We have one of the biggest Martin Luther King Day parades in the country and we also have one of the biggest Juneteenth festivals in the country. Mayfest is alot of fun to see all of the different art from local artist. I would say the one thing that isn’t great is our school systems. There are great schools in Tulsa, but the Oklahoma legislature doesn’t do a good job of making sure the schools have all the resources they need. My wife is a school teacher so there may be some bias in my opinion. You guys seems like cool people and I hope you are enjoying the city. We welcome all who want to come.

Would you recommend Tulsa over OKC? The low cost of living is calling me to OK, but not 100% sure where.

FYI. The Tulsa Remote program only accepts 3% of applicants 😳. ~600 applicants accepted of 20,000+ in 2023. Like this video mentioned - the program is certainly seeking specific qualities. The surprise that Californians experience when moving to the south where people are (generally) far more considerate and hospitable always makes me smile. It's also very sad to hear how humans can treat one another...to the point where poor treatment is just expected. We can all find ourselves in our own bubbles and never really understand just how life "could be" until we explore outside the bubble. I'm happy for this couple and their experience 😊. Thanks for posting this video.

Is Tulsa friendly for single men ? What about dating there ? I read that Tulsa is completely family oriented city.

Great question! So we have a couple of colleges that keeps the pond decently stocked lol but I would say Tulsa is more family oriented than single. I mean most places shutdown at 10 PM expect for some places on the weekend. At least that was the case for me 6 years ago.

Hi! I would love another follow up on them or other clients you have that have moved from a liberal city to Tulsa. I compared the crime stats from niche between LA County in Ca and Tulsa and Tulsa blows LA out of the water with crime and that confuses me 😂

I'm also a Californian who moved to Oklahoma - Stillwater, but I visited Tulsa a lot. Tulsa is a great city in its own ways but on food and climate I wouldn't compare it nearly as favorably to California as this couple did, especially if we're talking about major metro areas like Los Angeles and San Francisco.

Our favorite places to eat while in Northern California was In-N-Out and Burger and Cream 👍🏻 I’ve lived in Oklahoma forty-three years and our favorite place here is over by Lake Tenkiller, Soda Steve’s.

Moved to Tulsa from Richmond, Virginia August 1, 2022. My experience has been horrible. No one will give me a chance at employment. If I did not have some remote teaching I'd be screwed. Cost of living is good.
