I was the tmpanist in this & this was recorded in Dolby Atmos (Ten Times better than Dolby Digital) those microphones pick up the smallest noise like turning the page of your music to loud & in my case adjusting the note of the timpani using a creaky pedal. If you get yourself a Dolby Atmos sound bar then you won't regret it. As a professional musician i have played many versions of ALW's musicals (Phantom, Love Never Dies, Superstar etc) & this is the best suite arrangement i have ever played in) Andrew also did a suite for Sunset Boulevard & Evita recorded in the same sitting over 2 days. Here are the links for these & share this beautiful music. sunset Boulevarde .kzbin.info/www/bejne/imSTiqF3rMydqrc & Evita. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gpq9YYeij52Kna8. Enjoy.

I agree - these are ALL incredible musicians! I have never played flute, but have Bb clarinet, and Bb bass clarinet. I learned the love of music, sitting on the piano bench next to my grandfather, - and my mom played piano and the organ, and we often went to the Detroit Symphony growing up. I know I may be mad, but I have endeavored to play and record ALL of the music from Phantom, even though there is much of the orchestration I don't play (strings, brass, woodwinds, percussion) but thanks to the beautiful instrumental sounds in the Roland Fantom 8 (and Native Instruments) I can do this, from the full instrumental score. I play and record, part by part, chair by chair, instrument by instrument. I am doing this for me and perhaps family who would like to hear it. It will take a very very long time. I have recorded all instruments for the overture - including a magnificent pipe organ. Play on!

What always stuns me when I hear something like this, the composer didn't have a computer to put all this together. He heard it in his head and then put it on paper with a pencil. I couldn't carry a tune in a wheelbarrow but a musician can conceive and produce something like this. Sometimes it just doesn't seem fair but I'm still glad it can be done. Even if I can't do it myself I can at least enjoy it.

I was the timpanist in this, This orchestra is probably around 70-80 musicians but a full symphonic orchestra which i played in the Phantom of the Opera live musical some years ago had about 120 musicians. Because all the instruments are mic'd up it sounds bigger than what you might think. If you ever get the chance to see any ALW show that has a full Symphonic Orchestra beg, borrow or steal to get a ticket, you will never forget it. These types of music sounds 10 times better if you have "Dolby Atmos". It sounds like your sitting in the middle of the orchestra with the sound coming above you, behind you on your left, on your right etc This is probably the best arrangement of a phantom Suite i have ever heard.

I love this! I especially love watching the orchestra and hearing the use of the horns. Awesome! Can't get enough!
