Very enjoyable review! 👍👍 Have had my Wind 1.2 TCe 100 GT Line for 2 years now. Absolutely adore the thing. Can be really fun for a legal "spirited drive", if you give it some beans and get the little turbo on song. The roof always seems to be a talking point, and absolute doddle to work (As you demonstrated) About 12 seconds for the roof, and allegedly Renault bought the idea from Ferrari, but made the improvement to have the boot lid cover the roof so passengers don't get wet if caught short. That boot, still amazes me that it's so large for small car! Think this car (barring any major issues) will be staying with me for quite some time. 😊😊

Glad you enjoyed the video! It may just be a Twingo Mark II platform, but it was pretty exhilarating to drive, especially with this more powerful engine. The roof is impressively quick and the boot is very impressive for a tiny little car like this. There are just over 2,000 listed as being still on the road, so they are quite rare, but not quite as uncommon as a Chrysler Delta or Suzuki Kiszashi, which were also around at this time.

Bonkers car! I do not remember this model at all, but what a rarity. Thank you, sir! Terrific video.

Yes, incredibly rare in this country, I think Leigh has a thing for rare cars, as you haven't seen anything yet by comparison...

Ooh I've got the wind! No, not that the car! It is a rather silly name in this country, however I really do like these a lot, certainly would like to have a go in one. As always a terrific video, sir!

Thank you, sir! Got a lot more to come from this trip to Thatcham earlier this month. I am sure that the name sounded great in a market research meeting in France....

Could say they made bit of a boob (he he) with that name. Did the designers not know that grown men act like little boys when they hear certain words? Anyway great car. I’m going to look at one tomorrow and hopefully buy.

It must have seemed a good idea at the time . Reminds me of an early 90’s Honda crx with an electric folding roof .

Yes, clearly someone at Renault must have been feeling in a creative mood when they came up with this. Thank you again for watching, sir!

Never knew such a thing existed. No doubt will become collectable, if not already.

Just over 2000 of these left in the country, I think they imported less than 3,000 in total.

Great little review of a rare car as always Sir. Edinburgh Registered as well.

We aim to please, sir! Renault imported less than 3,000 of them into this country from memory.

It actually means wind, to wind something up , the designers name it reminded him of a wind up car

Not heard that one before...

It would have been popular in New Zealand. We loved similar sized and designed cars from the 1990s like the Paseo and CRX Del Sol, so a more modern take on such vehicles would have been a hit!
@lloydvehicleconsulting Жыл бұрын
It's most similar to the CR-X in concept, I think.

Good Evening Sir, I searched for one of these a couple of years ago but couldn’t find a good example unfortunately.It’s still very high on my next purchase list though.
@lloydvehicleconsulting Жыл бұрын
They are extremely rare, and were very short lived on the UK market, so this is likely to be one of the only Winds I will ever get to experience.

Thanks for this video! Ok this definitely did not come to New Zealand but I want one! 🙂

Sir, perhaps not quite as bonkers, but in the age of cookie cutter ‘SUVs’ this Wind reminds me somewhat of a 2010s version of the Avantime.

Yes, very, very different from what Renault produces these days!

There were quite a few of these displayed together at the Newbury Car Show earlier this year. They just look a bit dumpy to me but I suppose they have the benefit of a targa roof.
@lloydvehicleconsulting Жыл бұрын
They imported about 2,000 of them from memory, so they aren't exactly common, but they aren't the rarest either. Definitely a future cult car!
