Great video and I agree about the internet. I was researching the 2018 Silverado’s and almost did not buy one because of the horror stories. Then I looked up my vehicle and there were all kinds of horror stories about it too. Never had a problem with my car just routine maintenance issues,brakes,tires etc.

I also have a 2018 Silverado 4x4. I just finished lifitng it with an 8” lift kit and running 35x13.50R24’s. These past 2 yrs have been awesome with my truck. I haven’t had any issues with the exterior paint or anything mechanical. Interior is just as good as I brought home. So far it has 21k mikes on it. Next mod will be wheel well rock lights and interior ambient lights.

the video. I bought a 2018 and 2019. I am a little hesitant when it comes to American vehicles, this is my first. I usually only by the Japanese. The tundra was on my list for years... But it was so boring that I had to question if I wanted to buy into the reliability of Toyota versus having a little more style and comfort stat the package Silverado had. ultimately I went with these Silverado and I just had my first year with it. Mine is a 2018 double cab LT with the 5.3. as much as I don't trust the American vehicles... This truck is not giving me any troubles. I'm happy I'm just looking into the future to see how long the honeymoon will last. I'm a DIY person and I take very well care of my vehicles. This is a truck that I use it for truck things, but I'm not being it up. glad you're happy with yours. I believe that mine will do just the same since they're very similar.

The newer paints suck..its all cars though. I like the color match tow hooks.. looks good like that.. overall it looks nice. Besides the "cheapness" inside they are okay trucks. I have a 2018...hate the 2019 and up front ends..happy motoring. Thanks for sharing

I got a '16 Silverado that I bought new. With the leaf springs squeaking, what I did was spray the leaf spring bushings with GM Superlube which I use on everything else on the truck. I also use it on the A-arm bushings too. With the recall on the brake pressure, it'll take about 45-60 minutes of your time at the dealer. Just a computer update and I noticed a difference in mine. With your driver's side door speaker, check the screws on the door panel. They may have loosened a tad to cause a pop. With the wind noise, did you change the am/fm stereo antenna? I had no wind noise with the factory antenna but when I put a short aftermarket antenna on I got wind noise. I just open the driver's side window a crack and don't hear it. Don't know if you figured these problems out if not maybe this will help

I heard GM has some pretty weak undercoating too. You should take a video of the frame of the truck to see how much undercoating is already worn off. My buddy has a 2018 Silverado 2500 and within two years of owning it his frame is already surface rusted and all his undercoating is already worn off.

My dads got a 2020 ram hemi, we raced a 5.3 Silverado and kicked it’s ass. We then got a chance to race my buddy’s Silverado with a 6.2 and he won by about half a truck. The 6.2 is a beast of a motor along with the 5.7 hemi.

I have the same exact truck, and living here in Minnesota has destroyed my front bumper paint. Literally looks like someone shot it with a rock salt shot gun shell. Love what you have done with your truck though! I am right at 28k mi and it hasn't given me one issue.

How did your readylift uppers, seat into the spindle tapered hole? As in the tapered part of the balljoint? Did it seam to sit further out then stock? And so far I love my black 19' z71. Its a LD, so its the 18' body style. So far its got, 18x9 +1 offset fuel vector bronze wheels. 285/65s duratracs. T409 MBRP duels. Range technology. 3"motofab, 2⅓rear blocks. Diff drop spacers, shock extensions, and recently readylift uppers.

Truck looks great. Really abstract question. How does the a/c handle during the summer? Love the 2018 over the 19 body style but the 19s offer rear vents and 18s don’t. I have a little one now and my 06 F-150 doesn’t do so well w/ out vents in the back for the kiddo during Texas summers. I don’t want to repeat that issue but I really love this body style more than the new generation. Thanks!

Well if you’re tires didn’t stick out past the fender wells it would not be all chipped up. Any paint is going to chip when hit by rocks all the time. As far as front bumper I am glad mine had chrome instead of paint

My 18 does the speaker thing no popping but just like yiur put your leg against it goes away and certain songs same thing. Biggest fix was adding the range device! Fixed all the shity v8 v4 thing.

Great looking truck. I always ask how people like their vehicles and I know 6 people with 17’ or 18’ 1500’s and 4 of them have had major transmission problems or replacement before 70k miles. The other two have less than 30k miles still but seems like a major issue from GM. Not sure how common it is or if it’s completely coincidence that many people have had issues. Anyone else heard of these issues?

My 2003 RWD has 3,:42 axle. It helps the 5.3 move First time passing another it was more tgan expected. I treat my truck as if new once a new RSaT deceided to race thought what the hell as he floored then decided wonder how i do floored. He had 2 truck lenghts on me i caught him faater tgen clooud expect i waa wt his bumper when he let off due to traffic

So I have a 2018 Ford F-150, not sure why I said Ford I’m sure you can tell from F-150, tuners don’t void warranty, that’s a lie some dealerships try to say. Some will not work on your truck cause a tuner but I have had to go to the dealership a few times and I take the time off, they say if you take it off they can still tell and all that but I know that’s a lie cause they have checked my codes and there has been no issue with the tuner. I forgot to take my tune off one time and they said they couldn’t read my codes I said that was dumb my tuner can read codes and they told me that it ruins the computer and all that crap, and I informed them that that was actually a lie because I’ve taken my tune off and dealerships had no clue about the tuner. My dad bought a new F-150 in 2011 and did the same thing if it had to go to a dealer we took the tune off and it was all good

They can tell if it has been tuned. Many dealers don't care to look over minuscule things. If you blow your engine and they feel like looking into it they can definitely void your warranty if they choose too.

So I got a 2016 Z71 doublecab, and I haven't noticed too much carbon build up yet and the electric steering is a breeze imo.

Oil consumption is going to be your v4 99% of the time unless you have a leak. No rattles besides ones mentioned in video. No build up noticed and no e85.
