My maternal great-grandmother was from Porthmadog, and THIS is the first time I've seen it. What a wonderful movie this is, and beautifully filmed, edited, too. Regards and thanks to the volunteers restoring this line into what it is today. Thanks for posting.

Wonderful job to restore it and keep in that excellent condition, including trains, track, stations and the bridge where railway crosses the road. Great spirit and great achievements somewhere in the ends of Not So Great Britain.

This is the most stunning Narrow Gauge Railway, that I have ever seen on film. The filming was excellent, not just of the train but also the amazing Welsh scenery. I have never travelled on this railway, but will definitely make a point of travelling along it in the future. Thank you for sharing with us all. COLIN DAVENPORT, Aberdeen, Scotland. U.K.

You must also travel on the FFestiniog Railway. It starts from the same town.

A first class production very well edited showing views of the surrounding countryside and the engine especially from the front of the third carriage and the weather conditions were excellent. CAREY CHESHIRE

Amazing! Had heard about the abundant scenic beauty of Scotland, never knew that Welsh too is such a beautiful place. Thanks for taking us along on this amazing ride of narrow gauge railway through Welsh Highlands

Welsh mountains not Highlands. The term Highland is specifically reserved for Scotland.

This journey is on my bucket list for next year. I absolutely love trains, especially steam trains. Over me a free trip on a plane or a boat and I'll say NO! I hate planes and boats, won't get me on either for 10 billion pounds. Offer me a trip on one of these and the answer is YES. :)

For a heritage railway, they keep the track in top shape. Virtually all of it looks recently ballasted. Only one abandoned halt, and the rest looking shiny and new. Thanks for posting!
@ds18682 жыл бұрын
The track looks new because it is new. The Welsh Highland railway has only recently been rebuilt.

Great video. My only quibble, having watched the leg from P'dog to C'non, was that you filmed the same side on the return and missed the views of Snowdon coming back!

I cannot believe how well this video is doing. Over 33,500 views and 125 likes. It must be the stunning subject material! Thank you everyone.

Great video, but you have the title the wrong way round, should read Porthmadog to Caernarfon.
@LNERandBR7 жыл бұрын
The actual train ride starts in Caernarfon. Granted the video starts at Porthmadog but thats because I had extra footage :)
@sandgrownun666 жыл бұрын
Maybe you could have put the video from Porthmadog at the end, as extra footage and to keep a sense of linearity.
