Omg. I remember to love eating French bread with palta and salt for a quick breakfast. Now this reminded me that the palta from Peru was different from the one that I eat from here. It was so good. I tried to make myself the same thing here and it just doesn’t work.

Excellent video. The chirimoya, also known in English as ‘cherimoya’, is a delicious and ancient fruit of Peru. Mark Twain called it "the most delicious fruit known to men" and the merengado de chirimoya is one of my favorite desserts. You are right, it’s like a pavlova cake. How nice of you to include your grandma. Now we know where the good looks and the passion for cooking came from. It was an excellent idea to start your new series of videos by showing the diversity of fruits that can be found in Peru. Andy, keep the good work.

Chirimoya & Guanábana that are from the same family, are not only absolutely delicious, but known to be good against Cáncer. Australia should try to grow them here, despite some fruit & veggies only flourish in Peru. Thanks very much Andy, your segments will show that Peru is not only Machu Picchu & wonderful historical places, but that its people, flora & fauna are astounding. 🙏😘🇵🇪🇦🇺

alina reade I know I would love to see Chirimoya grow in other places but since it grows at very high altitudes it’s very rare to see it outside Perú! We’re so lucky to have it there. I love that I’m able to share a piece of Perú with everyone 😊

Hola! Lamentablemente mucha gente confunde el Custard Apple por la Chirimoya. Son especies distintas pero muy parecidas en aspecto por eso la confusión...alguna vez has probado Custard Apple aca? No tiene mucho sabor en mi opinión...
