The problem with fitting a video like this is that there is only 1 Ian. I don't think whoever Paige worked with at CC to get that set of ZX5 would be able to do this like Ian.
@LegacyAirTech8 ай бұрын
To add onto this, its been well documented that a lot of people leave a CC fitting being fit into the most expensive niche custom shafts with markups on each item of the build (grips with an MSRP of $12 being charged $18, shafts with an MSRP of $45 going for $75ea, etc.) As absolutely amazing as Ian is, hes not the norm

Pro tip: check out the actual specs on your clubs. Paige said she was used to Mizuno which usually build "standard" irons 1-2 degrees flatter than other manufacturers. No surprise that the Srixons are going more left for her. Also, Srixons have bigger loft gaps than Mizuno especially in the shorter clubs.
@jonbuikema73998 ай бұрын
Definitely one of the best fitters. Knows his stuff. Many manufacturers tend to be more upright as "standard" to help with slices and reducing shots right. Always good to know from what you currently have to new sets. Keep up the awesome reviews and shows.

This was a timely video for me as I'm going through the 'tweaking loft and lie' process myself. So thx CC. And it was good seeing a bit less of Paige than usual. I found I could focus more on her (more relatable) swing, and what was being said. I recently changed from the TP5 to a Srixon Z-star Diamond ball and immediately got better, more consistent spin numbers and tighter carry dispersion. It really is amazing what a big difference the right ball can make.

@@CoryLancasterYT I never said they should or could but not being a pro or a fitter or a person who has been to a fitter multiple times I was surprised when I heard it. This video explains why doing so, however practical, is prone to error. I had my only fitting a few years ago and was just told to come by and pick up the clubs when they came in. It seems there should be a part two now that I know more. I’ve never been completely satisfied with mine and don’t think they are very similar from one club to the next.

This video is relatable on a number of fronts as it could apply to me or any of the players I play with. 1. Importance of loft/lie adjustments (when done properly) and 2. Importance of Fitting to the player's goals/objectives. e.g. in the case of Paige, knowing that she can't always work on her game she has gone with the more forgiving clubs when it is clear that she could easily be playing the ZX7 in her short irons (if not the entire bag). Great video.

Got fit for a Cobra CB and Tour flow set in Oregon, then I moved across the country to Florida… they finally get here and I realized the lie angles were a degree flat. Went to the local shop near me (NOT A CC STORE) to get them adjusted to my old specs… And they mess up the entire set and I had to get them warrantied after just one round ☹️. Waiting for the warranty set to get here… sucks Awesome video per usual !!♥️

My Club Champion fitter was about nothing but trying to upsell stuff. He refused to even let me try to hit any stock shafts. Only his premium shafts. Condescendingly asked me why I have a blade and not a more forgiving mallet. The SAM showed I was perfectly fit for my putter and he was still trying to sell me another one, but then he couldn't find the 60 toe hang blade he said I needed, even though I made every single putt with my putter and he gave up on my full bag fitting, only did iron and putter before he basically ignored me and started doing other things. I'm glad TXG is making tons of money now as part of CC, but CC tarnishes the name of TXG.

Paige wants a forgiving, yet more consistent iron that will give her more spin = Ping i230. Added bonus: the i230 are lighter than most heads, leading to somewhat increased clubhead speed.The i230 heads are probably at least 8 grams lighter than the Srixons.
@carterhounslow8 ай бұрын
Hang on, so am I right in understanding that the suggestion with the 9 iron was that it was too upright and this is why paige was closing the face more on those shots. I have a similar path to hers and my 9 iron always pushes, don't think I've ever turned it over, and my 6 iron and 7 iron I'm always sending left. 5 iron, 8 iron and everything else baby draws. Could it be my lie angle for some of my clubs is actually out and it *might* not be me? I've been mainly practicing off mats for two years with my irons so I wouldn't be surprised if they're out.

Ive played the Srixon MK5s now for two years. My numbers are identical to Paige. I had to have the AW & PW made stronger to get proper gapping. I draw the ball too much. I think I need my lie angle more flat that than the standard, especaily since my clubs are +.5 inches. I dont carry the 5 iron because I hit it too low like her, so my 9 wood gives me a higher shot and propper gapping. My spin is slightly less then Paige, I too should try the Callaway ball. But will I lose some distance off the tee with the higher spinning ball?
