I'm currently making my way through your Logic Pro X 101 course and I honestly can't thank you enough! I've been working with Logic for years, but never had the time of the mind to actually learn what I'm doing. But I've learnt more through you, in a week, than I have in my years recording. THANK YOU! I'm very eager to put my learning into practice xxx

Do you have a video of how to time align drums, or other instruments with out using the quantizing function? Like edit them the same way you would in pro tools? That would be great to see you demonstrate! Thanks for the great videos! I have been using them for the past 5 years now! Learned a ton!

Ya know I've been intimidated of using Selection-Based Processing since it became available. I just didn't know how to access my 3rd party plugins (that eat up so much CPU) and thought that the presets w Logic's stock plugins were the only options available. Your vid changed my mind and helped renew my interest in giving this a go once more. And the cool thing is that, if you have Swipe Comping along w Alternatives already set up, you can make granular tweaks that you can swipe in with the Original. Or completely, revert back to the original at any point. Learned a lot from this vid, thanks for sharing these tips!!

Nice. I've known about this tool for a while, but never quite understood what use cases it's meant for. Will for sure use this for tuning vocals. One note/question: if you use the selection based processing repeatedly on the same region (e.g. when tuning different phrases), will you then create a whole new audio file each time you click 'apply'? If so, it might take up quite some disk space.

Yes, please could you for tuning vocals. I do use this method but didn't think about tuning vocals. Bonus never thought about the saving CPU part, great info. I wrote a reggae sounding song and played about with this and auto to achieve typical reverb, echo delay, dub sounds. I'm not sure which is the best to use, if you could look into this process more would be good.

@masbass101111 ай бұрын
Nice. So if you use autotune or any tuning plug-in and you do some flex pitch, what is the signal path? Flex first, then channel strip? Or is it tuning plug-in then flex pitch?
@RedLuxeStudios2 жыл бұрын
Is there a way to change multiple instances of the same plug-in all at once? For instance, if you had Auto-Tune applied to all of your vocals, and you wanted to change a setting in all of them...As opposed to doing them all one by one?
@lawinter19492 жыл бұрын
Dude! This is your best video yet! This opens up so many options I did not know were possible! I'm gonna be using melodyne with this and all the iZotope RX plugins with this! This is actually a great workflow for melodyne because if you use it on a region with selection base processing and just engage the transfer mode in melodyne then render it, melodyne will load your region and then you can edit and render again onto a new take and still have your original if you want it. This should also work with the graphical mode in autotune pro as well. This video just saved my workflow soooo much time thank you!

Great tips!! Does this work with the I/o plugin as well?
@MusicTechHelpGuy2 жыл бұрын
It won’t work with the I/O plugin for external mixing hardware because those types of effects have to be processed in real time. But you can place the I/O plugin on a normal insert, dial in your effect setting, and then route the channel to another audio track and print it in place, so you no longer have to use the hardware. I do this same thing all the time.
@bbmusic49832 жыл бұрын
@@MusicTechHelpGuy ahh okay - thanks for the reply! I do that as well - sending to a bud and then printing… was hoping this might save some time routing! Cheers

Hi, I have a question: Should i use mono or stereo plugins on vocals?
@tubbythump93212 жыл бұрын

@GMan2692 жыл бұрын
Forgive me if this is stupid question. Are those tracks from LPX's Drummer? They may just be audio tracks but they look like Drummer. If they are drummer, I have two basic questions: 1. How did you create such a random track of fills and rhythms? It sounds like you played it in live, but it looks like drummer. If it is drummer, it must be a producer kit, but how did you get it each part to appear by track. I used a producer kit on a tune I have been working on and the the disclosure arrow doesn't show any parts track by track. In order to really grasp your content I may need to clear these points up in my thinking! Thanks. Super informative video. I'm going to try it this afternoon with a scratch track.
@MusicTechHelpGuy2 жыл бұрын
These are real drums that I recorded in my home studio with a 10-microphone setup.
@GMan2692 жыл бұрын
Thanks! LPX still doesn’t seem to make it easy to take a drummer track, producer kit or not, and break it out to separate midi tracks. I can convert it to midi, and separate by midi note, but then it’s grouped. If I want to solo a track and work on the eq, compression, transients, etc. I solo the entire conversion. I can manually copy each track to a new track, which is a time wasting annoyance. Is there some simple move that I’m missing? I can’t imagine Apple missed this. As always, great info.
@MusicTechHelpGuy2 жыл бұрын
@@GMan269 If you want to separate the drummer channels, you can load the drummer in Multi-Output mode. This keeps the MIDI data all in the same region, but separates the individual drum channels. And if you use the producer kits, they are even more separated.
@GMan2692 жыл бұрын
@@MusicTechHelpGuy Gotcha and I do that. What I'm seeking is getting the midi data to appear on those respective tracks and not have to ungroup manually. It's easy with Drum Machine Designer. That's why I ask if I'm missing something like an "ungroup" command or some trick that you use. You're opening video scene of your drums broken out by track is what I'd like to do with a Drummer producer kit, but all the tracks displaying midi data of the respective kit parts and not be grouped, so I can solo them and work with them independently. Sorry, I feel like I haven't done a good job explaining this. Maybe there's some reason why nobody is YouTubing on this! Thanks so much, my work flow improves as I study your material here. It's great.

I disagree, it’s nice but as Logic & Pro Tools user, Logics SBP has been around for a while now but in day to day use it’s never used , Audiosuite has a much simpler workflow & better supported by plug’s made to support it.
