Stanza 18: there is a typo as presented in the writing on screen, where you see incorrect "vegask," though I read it and discuss it out loud correctly as "vegisk."

Thank you for your amazingly concise translations and the explanations of what we are actually hearing. I seem to grow to like Loki more and more for his chutzpah.😄

this series is so good, i know it’s quite a specific topic but you deserve much more views. i thought i would just listen to it as a podcast but i actually watched the whole video. it’s so fun (and satisfying) starting to understand some lines and phrases (from learning icelandic)

How reliable do you find the things Loki says in this poem? I'm always a little skeptical of the things people say in arguments in Old Norse literature. Is it reasonable to think that every god is an effeminate coward and every goddess a whore?

Norse languages sounds like a phonetic mishmash of Spanish, English, and a language where the letter F is very important.

@Austin Knighton Now that you mention it... I think the further we go back in time with most European languages, the closer they all get to their common linguistic roots & precursors (including Proto-Indo-European)... and thus they would likely sound kinda similar (at least phonetically, anyway).
