I absolutely love Andy. You can really tell he’s such a kind and gentle man. I love his voice, it’s such a sweet old man voice. The fact that they fostered so many children for so many years really tells you a lot about his character.

the fact that they deliver bad news away from the camera makes this such a classy show! here in america we absolutely DO NOT respect anyone's privacy like that, because showing people's pain gets higher ratings and its disrespectful on so many levels

The wife just makes me so happy, the fact that she feels so strongly over the fact that her husbands child from a previous relation is found and her love for that child that she isn’t even family with is just amazing. Those two are relationship goals and their love is something that we should strive for.

Im a social worker in the US. And I would like to say that social work (state agency) has changed quite a bit since these folks were taken from their parents and the series. We are not perfect yet, but things have gotten a lot better.

I raised a deaf grandson and it was the most rewarding loving relationship between me and any of my children!! He was the sweetest most affectionate child because he wasn't jaded by a hearing world and all the nonsense and prejudice that goes with it!! He went to a deaf school because I wanted him educated among his own peers and being deaf in a hearing world can be so very lonely for a small child! Those adoptive parents were cowards to do what they did, they don't know the kind of unconditional love they missed out on and all they had to do is make the effort to learn sign language! Shame on them! Look how sweet she turned out. They missed out on a wonderful daughter. Being deaf isn't bad it's just a different way to be. If I could have given my boy what he needed from my anatomy to make him hear I certainly would, but he is doing just fine without it!

Wish my dad loved me half as much as Andy loves his son and his foster kids. Mine was a dirt bag that was never there for me. Haven’t heard a peep outta him in 11 years. The fact that men like Andy exist give me hope for this world. What a kind and loving man. 🥰 Also my son is deaf and like many others with disabilities people underestimate him. There is nothing else wrong with him. His mind, heart, and soul are the same as anyone else’s. He is amazing and sweet. Such a loving and energetic 11 year old boy like any other. He is the love of my life along with my daughter. Having him as a brother has made her the best person as well. She is his little sister (8) but she looks after him and always includes him. My heart breaks that her first adoptive family saw her as a burden. It breaks my heart that she didn’t get to meet her mother.

My alleged birth father didn't want me either. He refused a DNA test and swore I wasn't his. This was back in the mid to late '80s. I finally saw a photo of him shortly before turning 30 a few years ago. It was like looking at an older bald male version of myself. He had other daughters he didn't raise either. They also went up for adoption.

My father didn't want kids and wouldn't marry my mother, way back when you had to marry. I was told I was supposed to be aborted, plans fell through. There are signs adoption was thought of, then my grandmother traveled to where I was, took me home with her when I was around 10 months old. I lived with her about 2 years. She worked, I remember going school on the bus as an infant, with my birth mother's younger brothers and sisters. When my grandmother was told they couldn't send me, a toddler to school, my young aunts took turns staying home from school to watch me. That also wasn't allowed, so I ended up being sent back to my birth mother, after she eventually returned and was married to someone else. She hated me, and let me know this all my life. I was a child who didn't thrive, grew up in that family, but all alone. My grandmother was loving, took me to her house every weekend, on vacations and much of the summers. If it hadn't been for her, I probably wouldn't have lived through childhood.

Oh, this one made me bawl. It's so wild how these long-lost siblings are so similar. The two sisters, despite never having met: both wear lots of eye makeup, dark/bold nail polish, and have 'modern' dyed hairstyles. So alike! I'll bet they're alike in other ways. I hope the entire family learn sign language, so they can really get to know their hearing-impaired sister. And that father, Andy! Oh, so much love for the son he never wanted to be given away! How can his birth son not internalize that love... So heartwarming :-)

Nicky’s genuine astonishment and happiness Shirley WILL learn BSL is just joyful to see. Having someone who understands what the adoptees will feel was a great choice for host.

Wow! Johns's biological mother died SO YOUNG! something like only 6 years after he was born, so she still would have been in her 20s. Incredibly sad. I wonder what happened 😢

See this is why I say the father has a right to whether a mother has that baby or not. It is not just her child it is part of him too, The father has rights too

Moms MADD in abortion, thats hard, but in adoption, for sure. There’s no reason(unless personal from the Dad) that the Father shouldn’t have been allowed to have the baby.

I love this show. Only if all shows could be as classy as this one. They really care about the people they are helping people it's not about the drama. This makes my heart so happy.

WHAT? The hospital would not allow him to be listed on the birth certificate as the father? That’s just cruel! Ok, so his divorce wasn’t final, but my goodness that’s cruel to deny listing his name! Beautifully done installment of this show! Respectful and heartwarming!
