Good stuff, I use the same paint, brown, tan, od green and sage green is normally what I use. I dig that yellow you added in I'll have to look for that one. I've never done the sponge technique but thought about tryin it. I normally do base layer tan, then thrown in some stripes of brown and od green and do spots with the sage green spread out. Then I'll drape a sniper veil over it and hit it with spots and stripes of eact color, moving the veil after each color until desired effect. It's worked out pretty good for me and I've had alot of dudes ask me to do it with a few of their guns.

That looks fantastic! I thought you were joking when you were talking about painting your action bolt and barrel. But it came out fine I guess. I feel like the paint would rub off the bolt and inside the action and get down in your trigger and such.
@MODERNDAYSNIPERАй бұрын
Thank you! The paint does rub off, but it doesn't flake. If you had a bead blaster you could mask n blast your barreled action to have better paint hook-up. Not had issues with paint getting into triggers.

I also wanted to thank you for being professional and respectful in the video about culling mountain goats in GTNP. It was a sore subject in the state and still is. Do you need to bake the barrel or let the paint on the barrel sit for a few weeks? Just wondering, i know bolt actions dont usually get as warm as other firearms

Paint job is awesome! Are you not a fan of painting the scope? The scope stands out like a sore thumb!
@BattleGn0me2 жыл бұрын
i built my rifle around a SS remington 700 short action and 5r 24" barrel and a fixed 10x scope. I just used the camo spray with no clear and a piece of 550 cord and leaves to mask. I dont think cerokote is the way to go for a mil-style tacitcal rifle. .308 is still a good choice, imo especially with a stainless barrel.
