My son was into the Harry Potter thing and asked me if I could make a magic wand for him. So I found a stick and carved into a wavy magic wand. A friend saw it and asked me to make one for his son, I did. Since then I've carved several more and 6-7 walking sticks. I'm working on 3 more at the monent. When I can find time. But something something I've always wanted to do is make make outdoor furniture out of sticks or small branches. Have you ever thought about doing something like that? I'm kind of hoping I might draw some inspiration from you or any one reading this on how to go about getting started

Yes, that's a wonderful idea. I made several chairs, little benches, tables, shelves, etc. I'm sure you can do some interesting things and bushcraft photos and videos are a good source of inspiration. Wish you and your family all the best!

Pro-tip: Use pieces of wood as wedges. Insert them as you split and hammer them in tightly. This puts much less pressure on your axe as you continue to split the wood.

Using a afroe and the same technique and you can makes boards, siding or shingles with those wood wedges. A froe wouldn't be the first tool I hauled up the moutain but it would definitely be on my list of gear to bring up.

Thank you, Debra! This time I had rice with eggplant that I boiled with some water, cherry tomatoes, chopped green onions, ginger and garlic, miso paste and chili paste and some spices, and a bit of lemon and olive oil. Added some chopped green onions on top of that.
